Ain't nothing gonna break my stride~

« on: January 31, 2010, 06:33:01 pm »

I booked a balcony room for NDK (sucks that its 10 extra bucks...jez)
Anyways, a few people told me some of the balconys are outdoor ones. I thought they didn't even have outdoor balconies there, but just in case, i thought i'd ask.
Do all of the balconys overlook the "Artist Alley"?
Thats where i saw everyone last time, hanging their wall scrolls and such....

Thanks for any info. Hopefully this is my last hotel thread  Lips sealed

If you paid $10 extra you should have an indoor balcony. Yes, the hotel does in fact have exterior balconies as well, but I believe there is no additional cost involved there.

The interior balconies cost extra because of the wall scrolls and decorations that the hotel then needs to repair after the event.

To confirm if you have an inner balcony room, I would suggest contacting the hotel directly.

I believe the interior balconies were classified as Atrium View rooms, correct me if I'm wrong.

Well it's looking like this year will be as messed up as last year as far as the atrium facing rooms

At least I just called the hotel and it appears the note disappeared regarding which room was reserved.

I'll get to pay $20 extra again for the privilege of looking at the parking lot out my window again .. how fun.

Could somebody from staff actually confirm with the hotel that the extra cost rooms are indeed the atrium facing ones and not that whole wing with balconies?  In years past they classified them as "Balcony" instead of "Inward facing balcony" resulting in around 1/3 of the congoers being disappointed.

I don't speak for anyone but myself, but if I were in your shoes, I'd call the hotel about it. Smiley

I wonder if they've reinstated the 'first come first serve' rule when it comes to atrium rooms again.

That's how they've always handled atrium balcony rooms and that's how they handled it this year.

I was told last year at the front desk that they changed their policy and that you had to specifically request an atrium room beforehand, which you couldn't do online at all, all you could do was reserve a balcony room or a normal room.  So I thought that they had done away with the first-come first-served policy.

Last year and this year there were 3 options when booking your room online. An atrium view room, a balcony room, or a regular room. The atrium view rooms are the atrium balconies and were reserved on a first come first served basis. Unfortunately this year all of the atrium rooms were reserved within the first 5 days.

Dang! So I'm paying out the nose for just a regular balcony room?! $99 bucks a night is kinda steep for a view of I-25 T_T
