Karaoke song choices, would like opinions

Hey everyone, I know it's still 3 months away, but I would like some thoughts on a small song list I made for the Karaoke event!

The Verve Pipe- The Freshman
Mando Pony- Long Way From Equestria
Blue October- Congratulations
Queen/David Bowie- Under Pressure
Blink 182- I Miss You
Skillet-Monster
Snow Patrol- Chasing Cars
Legend of Prince Valiant theme
Steve Conte- Stray

Monster I would sing as Ichigo Kurosaki, the other songs probably as Tenth Doctor. I would need a partner for Blue OCtober and Queen/David Bowie. Cheers!

That's quite the list. Certainly not limiting yourself to one genre there.

Honestly, unless you can push the limit like Freddie Mercury or David Bowie, I'd scratch Under Pressure off the list. And nobody can do it like they do/did.

Other than that I really don't have much recommendation

Sing along with all of them by yourself at first. See how well you can project your voice; be sure to take a gut-deep breath (not a chest-deep breath) and find out if you can hit those long notes. A good example of that is Panic! At The Disco's "I Write Sins, Not Tragedies".

If you want to mimic the vocal registers of the original singers, see how close you can match their voices, but realize that trying to sing outside your register can put strain on your voice and compromise the performance. For instance, if you're a tenor or countertenor, it might be hard for you to sing bass or baritone. If you're an alto, you might have trouble singing soprano, contralto, or coloratura. (I should know.)

Once you've done that, see how you sound without the music to decide if you'd rather sing it in your own style. Then, ultimately, choose the one you like the most and/or fits your voice best. ^n_n^
