Anyone else loathe anime but love NDK anyway? Or is it just me?

The atmosphere and people are fantastic, but I have simply never liked anime or anime related culture.  Just curious if anyone else goes for reasons other than anime?

Well... I've never been heavily into anime, and I certainly don't loathe it or the related culture. I do now simply nothing it, and view it like any other media entertainment. But I go for the Staff experience, so I'm not sure I would count..especially considering how long I have been Staff anyways.

At one point in my life I was *super* into anime and such, but I definitely haven't watched any new anime series or movies in the last few years. I don't despise it, it just doesn't appeal to me as it once did. So I go to NDK for the giant con experience now.

I used to watch anime constantly when I was younger (Back when you actually had to really search for it) but now I maybe watch one new (to me) full series a year. NDK to me is a place to get my geek out, to dress up like characters I love, to be around other people like me. Also, like Sarge, I love the staff experience. Even though I only became staff last year, it's a SUPER welcoming group, and everyone has treated me like old family.

I'm definitely not as into anime as I used to be, and I think I never was a hardcore fan--there were a few shows I liked and that was it. I guess that's still true, only now I hardly ever watch them or branch out into anything new. It's not as big a thing for me as it used to be, but I do love NDK. I love seeing all the outfits and art and everything. *_*

I used to watch a lot of anime, but I haven't watched anything in a long time (save for some DVDs that I throw on every now and then). I love NDK for its atmosphere, stuff to buy, artist's products and nicknacks. I love seeing the fantastic cosplays and art and buying things. xD

Loathe is a strong word, but it's not just you. I barely watch anime nowadays, but I still enjoy conventions.

I find it hard to say I loath anime, because it encoumpasses a whole slew of genres. I love Sci-Fi and Fantasy, and there are certain anime that cater to that. I love those little slice-of-life shows that are not meant to be a comedy, but has their funny moments, or a romance, but there is some love.

Saying I loath anime would be like saying I loath American cinema. There is just too much stuff that is so different from each other for me to hate everything that we consider to be anime.

I used to watch a lot of anime back in high school (I was in the anime club too). I may watch an episode/movie once in a while, but not nearly as often.  I do however love anime art.

As far as NDK goes, 2012 will be my 6th year attending, and it keeps getting better. I love the atmosphere, cosplay, art pieces, vendors, etc.

the trend...is slowing down and move on to better things...like paying "BILLS"... that never gets old
