Badges; 7,000 max attendies rumor (false)
Tsukara:
Last year I heard they were limiting how many people could attend NDK, and the max number was 7,000. No comments relating to the rumor were ever posted on the main page. I was wondering if that rumor was true and if NDK 2012 would be enforcing anything similar this year?
Mahou Shoujo Michi:
Uh.. that's not a rumor. It's a new policy. It's been talked about in detail since 2010 http://ndkdenver.org/forum/index.php/topic,4731.0.html
Tsukara:
Thanks for the link ;D,
Though I'm surprised that the NDK main website doesn't have a count down chart of some kind on their main page showing how many badges are left to be purchased/how many more attendies can participate in the convention.
Sporkie:
To clarify, the cap is 7500, not 7000. Also, although you're highly advised to preregister to be safe, there's a select number of badges that are reserved for on-site registration. Hard to say if that'll always be the policy, but it was last year, and there hasn't been any announcement to the contrary.

That's because we can't possibly keep track of every rumor. This one's a new one to me. Where'd you hear it? Last year, we even had a "rumors" post where I tried to answer as many of these as possible, and get the sources to them.
Sporkie nicely detailed the facts, save one: that 7,500 limit is per day, not maximum overall. And we will always have badges available for sale onsite. We know that sometimes people don't hear about us until the weekend of con, and we'd never want them not able to attend. Of course, when those onsite badges are gone, they're gone. We will also announce if the pre-reg badges sell out, so people know. (That didn't happen last year, nor did we expect it to).
We allowed as much growth as possible under the cap. But it will be here for the near future, because there is not a more suitable hotel in the city of Denver we could go.
