Please read my previous post. The best way is to keep a dryer sheet on you because the biggest problem with these wigs is the friggen static. Also while traveling it's best to try your hardest to keep said wig in orginal net and box, if not then a hat box. DRYER SHEETS ARE YOUR FRIENDS!

P.S. if you still have a prob after dryer sheets bring a little mistying bottle and spray it once in a while to keep it from getting staticky. I have a 6ft wig right now that I work with and these are the ways that I found help. Also, I know everybody wants to touch you wigs when wearing them but discourage them from doing it. It helps it from getting staticky.
Smile! It does a body good. Or at least makes people wonder what you are scheming. :)

Yup!  A friend of my bought the Godiva wig at a cheap halloween outlet and the only way we could keep it under control was dryer sheets and and a mistying bottle.

I suggest tying it up whenever possible. Section the hair into 10-20 small bits and either put a clear elastic around the end of each section or tie it with a small ribbon. The hair will still flow freely, but with tied up ends, it will not tangle as easily :)

In addition, "Motions Oil Sheen" is a brand of spray oil usually used on ethnic hair. It works wonders for keeping wigs from tangling.

Here is some wig 101 for you all! To give you an idea I am making Steel Angel kurumi's wig right now!

1. For staticky wigs grab a dryer sheet and gently smooth the wig with it. It takes care of all of the static.

Does that apply to kanekelon wigs, as well?

::nods::  It should work just as well with those wigs, but be gentle when using the dryer sheet so that no fuzzy stuff (that little bit of dryer sheet that pulls out lint) gets caught, and it should work really well!  =^^=

Also bring a mister water bottle it helps a whole lot, just don't soak the hair with it!

Thank you my Taffy! :D LUVS!

Pull it into a low ponytail, then pin the ponytail upward?

I used to wear my real hair like that :]

Depends on how long your hair is.

I have really long hair so I usually put it in a ponytail then twist it into a bun and take the very end of it and pin it so it shoots up. I have also used hair gel in my hair to get it to stand up or curl just right.

Heyo.  Looking for some suggestions - I'm planning Nuriko, but my hair's a bit too short to make it work right (not to mention I'd get odd looks at school if I actually dyed my hair purple. >_>)  Any suggestions on where to get a good wig that would be long enough for the cosplay?

Thanks in advance.

There's one... The bangs aren't QUITE long enough... but it's cheap compared to what you COULD spend...

Lemme look around a bit for ya...

Ooh, thankies.  I'd kinda actually like a decent quality wig, though - something that came off the $10 rack at <insert costume shop here> seems like it might be a bit too tacky.  Not that money isn't an issue, but I have enough to make this look good.

I like you already, lol.
I bought my wig a couple months ago and ended up dropping 60 bucks. LOVE IT!

I'm not seein' anything in particular, but she's amazing. Wouldn't buy from anyone else.
Edit~ If you were to E-mail her and ask her opinion, she could probably help you out.

That one doesn't look too bad, but I'm not sure if the color's right - seems like it could maybe be a little darker.

I was wondering if you'd pick that one.
Oh! Look at the purple on the bottom right, where it has the boxes of color.

They have a bunch of wigs and they all seem like they're very good quality. Definately not your $10 wig.

Ooh, cool.  Thanks.  Also, may seems like an odd question, but am I allowed to enter the cosplay contest with an outfit I didn't make myself?  My gut says no, but I just want to check. :)
