Race for the Cure - NDK
« on: October 02, 2011, 07:24:23 pm »
Got back from the Race for the Cure today and was noticing all of the teams that get together to do the 5k walk and was wondering; is there any interest in putting together an NDK team for next year? I know a few con-goers/staff have relatives who have been affected by breast cancer (my mom is a 10-year survivor this year) and I thought it might make an good gesture.

(and, yes, we've considered a Gimme Anime team, but to be blunt, we don't have the sheer number of people to pull from that NDK does  :P)

Given some of the outfits that we see at the Race, some of the cosplayers could have some fun strutting their stuff (preferably in pink clothes and comfortable shoes)... though now I'm thinking... Cosplay for the Cure.  :o

I would be in :) I am not entirely sure if complete cosplay would be good (though I will be proven wrong), but making shirts would be nice for people who don't want to do cosplay.  Unfortunately the only other person I know that isn't either in a team or would be willing to a race is in Texas.  So yeah, I'm in :)  It sounds fun if we can get enough people.

I'd be down for this as well!
The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person doing it.

As long as the race falls on a time when I'm in Colorado (or I get told far enough in advance) I would love to join you too!

keep in mind that you have to register to participate. it's around $35 for a walker (the 5k family walk).

costumes are encouraged. personally, i would love to see a cadre of utenas (in sensible shoes, of course) at the race.

If my Badman Vegeta cosplay didn't make me sweat at NDK, I'd sooooo do this. But knowing work, I can't get days like that off. Oh well.
