Colorado Springs Cosplay Meet up ideas!

So~! this thread has been going on for quite sometime..
http://ndkdenver.org/forum/index.php/topic,6208.0.html  And it seems that a lot of people would like to do more things in the Colorado Springs area.  I would LOVE to organize a meet up, but I wanna know what ideas would be popular.

Some of these can be mixed, for example we could hang out downtown, and then eat at Acacia park.

So come on, vote away!

Stuff that isn't too far south would be great. I live on the very north side of town, so it can be a pain to go more to the south side.

I didn't know about it until now!

I think it'd be cool to eat at Acacia Park or Shook's Run Park and then hang out downtown!
We could go get some boba and walk around! Yay!

However, the hard thing is figuring out a nice place that most people will know and easily get to.
Downtown might be good since it's central, however there's the whole parking situation.
For many who don't go there often, it might be stressful.

I love the idea of down there though.

Michi, you and I should be the organizers!
After we figure the logistics out, I can post stuff on other places
and such.


There's also the possibility of meeting at say Pikes Perk or any coffee shop that has welcomed
other meetups before (just in case the weather is bad). The downtown Pikes Perk has an upstairs that's awesome!
Also, Coffee & Tea Zone in the Rockrimmon area has a cute room for meetups and they sale boba!
But that's just if that ends up being a good middle spot.

Yes, there is the deal of parking downtown.  But to be honest, in my opinion the pros outweigh the cons.
Downtown is walk friendly (least for me , there's a park, great building to take photos, and plenty of coffee shops and restaurants.  The Fujiyama is EXCELLENT.

Count me in for whatever.  This sounds like it could be very fun and I'll gladly attend. 

I also agree with the Downtown ideas, as there really is an abundance of fantastic photo spots or quaint little restaurants or coffee shops to gather in, as well as a wide variety of various other forms of entertainment a short walk away to keep things interesting for everyone.

I don't really like downtown or the Citadel mall. but Manitou could be fun as well as Old Colorado City (though I don't know about location/parking/etc there). Even just a little restaurant or coffee place could be fun.

Oh, there's a coffee shop I go to in Old Colorado City called Jives. They're pretty open for having meet-ups and stuff, I think.

I've been there, it's pretty good. Seems calm there.
However, the people seem a bit uptight.
I'm familiar with the general area though. It's pretty nice.
There are a lot of options in Old Colorado City.



Also, the problem I have with hanging out at a mall is that it's so juvenile
and you can't really hang out. It's so crazy because of the people
and I highly doubt they would take kindly to a group of costumed youngsters.
It just seems so middle school.
Although, I don't know the ages of everyone.
I'm already twenty, so you could easily see my distaste for the mall.

^Yeah that's pretty true for the most part. Although one time me and some friends were just wandering around the chapel hills mall in cosplay. Most people were like "what the..." but there were a few times when some kids came up to us and were all excited cuz we were cosplaying. But yeah, it is a little juvenile. (I'm 21, btw)

It is nice to encourage others and show off our dazzling cosplay skills.
However, one other question about hanging out in the mall is: what do you even do other than walk around?
I can't imagine many nice places to sit down for conversational reasons and good photo ops.
Also, I doubt we'd actually be shopping.

Although, if there is a will there is a way.
I'm sure if we did end up going to the mall we could make it fun nonetheless.

Went there today with a friend to pick up glasses and Borders is closed officially. Sad.

I also love Manitou Springs -- for all the reasons listed.
It's too bad that the Mate Factor is so small. That would be a nice
place to drink/meetup and even take pictures in.
I always feel like I'm inside of an old RPG when there. Haha.

Hi everyone. I apologize for resurrecting a dead thread, but I wasn't sure if opening a new thread was such a good idea (since this one has a specific purpose, rather than a simple conversation).

I was curious if there are still meet-ups going on, and if there might be a chance I could join in.

I attend UCCS, and if there is anyone here that knows of any cool events, I'd love to hear about them.

I'm pretty bad at cosplay, but would enjoy trying it more, or just getting back into the habit of watching a bit more anime. Anything would be fun, really.

I am 25 but very excited to cos play as Torou Honda though that will be my first cos play relating to anything anime.

I would like to make new friends in the Colorado Springs area who also attend NDK.

Can't wait to meet you all around this area.
