NDK should last for 4 days.

As much as I'd love NDK to be longer, it's because I wish it could be NDK all the time forever XD

I think three days is enough for suh a happy place, it always leaves you wanting more.  Even adding a fourth day that day would become then "Pick up and go" day and soon we will have people asking for a 5th day and so on till...Forever CONFUNK!!

Sunday feels as you want it to feel. To you its "pick up and go" To me its "Cosplay Chess fun time. Maybe some AMVing than home for 20 hours of sleep day" I would love to work NDK and share my love for the weekend but I have no idea how the staff does it!!!

Some friends of mine at Corn Pone Flicks made a video (based on a fan comic) about a 'Floating Con', which was a convention/hotel complex that floated around the country, with events for every conceivable fandom running 365/24. Unfortunately, it was run by video pirates and bootleggers to make money for some secret conspiracy, so the Ozone Commandos had to take the "fully armed and operational battle station" down. Meantime, they get to make fun of a lot of fan stereotypes along the way.

You know, the fear of con funk brings up another issue that would hinder a 4 or more day NDK.  I don't know about most people, but EVERY NDK by Sunday I usually have a slightly raspy or rough throat(not always actually sore), and usually a stuffy nose.  This lasts for a day or two afterwards.

Now yeah, you can buy a bunch of drugs to try and keep yourself healthy, bathe in Purell, wear a plastic protection suit and never willingly touch another human body at all, but most likely you'd still come away with some kinda sickness.  And if the con continued I bet it'd just get worse, even by a day.  Honestly Sunday I'm worn out and I'm not even staff.  I don't think I could enjoy a fourth day of NDK while being sick.  And I'd feel bad because I know that I'd be spreading it to my friends(if they didn't have some already) and others.

Oh by the way, while con funk has been brought up.  So I developed a theory this con;  There's two type of funk at the con.  There's the normal con funk which is basically an odor that permeates those that are too...dense...to bathe during the con.  Then there's Rave funk which is actually a physical blanket that drapes down and coats your entire body if you actually walk through the Rave.  Rave funk is the worse of the two, and can be ditched easily enough by leaving the Rave, but Rave funk can also easily breed normal con funk.  Sorry, kind of a detract from the topic just couldn't help it with all the "fear of con funk" talk haha!

To be fair, there are people who suffer with NDK being 3 days long.  Not everyone works Mon-Friday with Saturday and Sunday off. 

Oh I certainly don't, my schedule changes every week depending on how busy it's going to be. But midst of the time people can request time off or to switch shifts with someone. At my work to make it faire to our small staff, noone can request time off for holidays. So my boss doesn't have to pick and choose who gets time off and who doesn't. We're all expected to be there. So if ndk were on a holiday

And then when the convention is 5 days we will want the convention to be an entire 7 day week; and then when the convention is an entire 7 day week we will complain that after halfway through the 4th day we are all really exhausted and don’t have enough money to stay three more nights at a hotel, eat, and buy $3 bottles of ramune in the dealers room; and can’t stand the con funk anymore or take 3 more days off of work;and we will all be sick with a cold or flu.

I think 4 days would be good, if we had a like a day zero like thing.  Like if we had enough industry people, and press people come, this would be the day that they could host their press panels, and then people can pick up their badges and press could get what they wanted from the guests. I would say it would be like half a day.  However, as of right now I don't think 4 days would be good. NDK isn't that big, in the grand scheme of conventions (for example AX2011 had approximately 50,000 attendees, and Otakon2011 had close to 32,000) NDK is barely breaking the 20,000 attendee mark (and that is just me estimating with the attend cap).  Don't get me wrong I love the idea, and my ideas could run wild if we did of what we could do, pre-con wise for it.  On top of the other reasons, I don't think Nan Desu Kan is ready for a 4th day.

Exactly Masurao.  NDK is just not nearly big enough to even consider 4 days.  Too much cost and all on both sides of the con for 4 days.  When NDK grows big enough, I wouldn't be surprised if the staff considered it, but definitely not any time soon I'm sure.
