I hope anyone who plans to go dressed as Germany remembers that the average person has no idea what Hetalia is and will not understand why you out in public dressed in a Nazi uniform. Many of them might even be willing the either verbally or physically expand on their disapproval of your attire (honestly, I probably would), so just be carful where you go and what you do on the way there and back.

Sachiel, understand that Germany doesn't wear any nazi unforms. Or rather, nothing that says "nazi" on it (http://www.hellocosplay.com/images/Hetalia-Germany-Military-Uniform-1.jpg). Just a gray uniform with no markings.
Besides, most Germany cosplayers are very aware of this fact already and tend to be doubly polite to people.

You must have missed the rather accurate SS uniform at NDK. Both my wife and I saw him several times. Honestly we were both a little disgusted. There was no SS uniform in Hetalia and no reason to were a such a strong symbol of hatred. EVER.

Firstly, the swastika was originally not a "symbol of hatred." It actually means good luck in many countries.
Second of all, no I did not see someone in that uniform at NDK. Perhaps I never saw them in passing.
Third, this conversation does not pertain to the celebration of Hetalia day and I kindly ask that no other replies about this get added. This thread is about the setup and RSVPs for an event. Not about what one person wore at NDK. If there were problems, take it up elsewhere. Not this thread. Thank you.

Back on subject:
Getting the goodies set up for the main part of this all and heavily debating a case of water so we don't have another hiccup like last year. Unless someone would like to stand up and say they'll bring fluids for this event. I'd rather be prepared now that last minute panic again.

You're right. Sorry about getting all preachy in your thread. I was just actually concerned about the safety of some of the people going to the party. I won't bother anybody about this anymore (unless that SS guy wants to pm me).

Just to keep this last post on topic as you requested, I won't be coming(duh right?), but I hope everybody who does has a good time and I will advise them to get a map from Google maps if it's their first time to Washington Park. Wash Park is a pretty big park with several parking lots. Good luck with your party.

I would love to attend! My mom is all for it this time too! But I just need a cosplay first.... which will be hard to get in such a short amount of time. I am thinking of asking a family friend to make it since I have no time. I wonder if she'll be able to for me.... So yeah if that works out then I should be able to come. I will post again when I know for sure. ^.^ I hope to be able to see you all then.

TeamEd,
I'd probably suggest checking the Cosplay.com marketplace also. I've seen a few costumes up for sale there recently also. Wigs are more or less the same.
However, like I said in the first post, it doesn't matter if you're not dressed in Hetalia garb. We'll accept you all the same. ^.^ It's all for fun really.

Speaking of fun, I have flag buttons and glass charms for prizes so far. Is there anything else people might like?

I definately want to cosplay and I don't think I would have much fun if I didn't. But yeah I want to come to. So I will do everything I can to cosplay but if I show up without then its fine too. I don't want to buy it because it'll cost too much. Like japans cosplay is like 100 dollers. I going cheap and doing my other choice of cosplay which is seychelles (Its not because she is easy I actually wanted to be her). But yeah anyway I may also be bringing an italy along with me.

I am definitely coming. I figured out how to get the cosplay in time, so I will be there and I also think I'm bringing along an Italy a a bunch of others not in cosplay.

Rabbit’s HUGE update of DOOM
(yes, this is also getting added to the first post too)
Firstly, picnic site #3 has been taken by someone else.
So has 2 and 4, so we get to move to Picnic site #1, which is on the other side of the park at Virginia and Franklin, a little west of the firehouse.
Map: http://i.imgur.com/YIe7G.jpg
(Side note: The reason why I didn’t reserve a site is because we don’t have to unless there are 25 or more people going. Currently, the Facebook Event shows 16 for sure attending, so it seemed a little silly to drop almost $50 on the site alone. That $50 could go into the food, prizes, and events of the gathering)
So, please tell your friends that we are moving to Virginia and Franklin!
Also, there isn’t a restroom nearby, but there are a few port-a-potties around. So, if you can’t handle them, be prepared to walk.
I have not seen a lot of “I’m bringing food/drinks” so I’m hoping that people still are since this is a picnic after all. The fiance’ and I are providing burgers and dogs (we have a grill, so no worries on that)
Along with food, we will have games! An Italy cosplayer came up and offered to run a few games. The list is bobbing for apples, futbol (soccer), Red rover, Jump the river, and freehand donuts. Also, there will be trivia games (Know your WW2 and Hetalia dates and who’s in the F-box {know your Hetalia character}). There are prizes! Buttons, necklace charms, and….*checks* Yeah, that’s it this year. I couldn’t get an order in for other goodies in time (either they were out before September or they were going to take forever and a day after September).
Going to quickly point out again: I know zombie crawl is the same day, but this event is earlier in the day, so feel free to come to both! The actual crawl isn’t until later at night anyway.
Please be sure to dress according to Colorado weather and remember we’re at a park. Comfy shoes are a plus!

There’s still time to answer questions/post so feel free to keep chittering!

And yes, I will do my best to make the picnic site easy to find. Flags, banners, whatever I can muster together in time.

See you all there!
