We are eventually going to get a code for a discount rate also. You can always make a reservation now and change it up with the code when it comes along. There will be an announcement on the main page when we get it. Also remember that room rates go up $10/person for every person over 2 in the room.

All in all, good information and thank you. It is also stickied.

I should also mention that all of this information will eventually be posted on the main site. I am just waiting to see if the the hotel has some official text and pictures they would like us to use. We should have a very complete hotel page by the time it is all said and done.

Just a note, the con rate with the code is a VERY reasonable $72 a night. The rooms at the Marriott are amazingly nice and could probably draw twice this rate easily. (I've tried to stay there when I got snowed in at work a couple of times and was quoted $160 a night.)

Another note, even at $110 a night, we've got it good. I'd suggest checking out the room rates for some of the other "high profile" cons around the country and see that room rates starting at $140 a night is rather common. This is another reason to love NDK. Our hotel RULES.

Gods, I hope we pass Katsucon for attendance this year, NDK deserves top 10 placement. Our con rules. :P

(Just a note, I'm speaking as an individual in this post. I'm just this cat ya know.)

I would also heavily suggest getting a hotel room Sunday night if you can manage it. It makes Sunday MUCH more enjoyable, and less stressful not having to con AND check out.

Is anyone else getting that our hotel is already COMPLETELY booked?!
This is awful!
T__T I've been going to this con for years and now I apparently can't get a room!

Tell them that you're registering for NDK. We've reserved a very large portion of the rooms in the hotel and it's likely all of the rooms not reserved for NDK attendees have been reserved. And if you don't specifically mention that you're with NDK, they won't tell you about rooms reserved for NDK attendees.

You'll need the following group code: NDKNDKA. You'll need this to reserve the room and to get the con discount.

All that said, rooms are first-come, first-served. If they run out of hotel rooms before you get a chance to reserve a room, there's nothing we can do to help you. Reserve your rooms ASAP. They usually sell out a couple of months before the con, so if you wait until the last minute, you'll almost certainly miss out on getting a room.

If the hotel is sold out you can try to commute, stay at a nearby hotel, or find someone else who already has a room.

a little update on rooms from what I know..

To Midnight Rain and others who have just found out about the con and are trying to get a room (like me) I called today (June 8 ) and still got a room =D.. (yay) it was rough figures.. and I don't even know what kind of bed(s) i'll get, but I got one. (even if I must suffer through smoking >< ) So give 'em a ring!

I just said "I was wondering if you had any more rooms for the Nan desu Kan convention in September" and the rep found one. Except I booked till Sunday so I had to pay $105/night.. but it seems if you need only 2 days you'll get the discount.

hope this helps =)

Does this seem right? I reserved my room in February from Thursday to Sunday and it equals about $250. I have the rate, I do believe. But the rate doesn't count for Thursday does it?

Hey thanks for pointing this out! Lunara, I see what happened, I made a mistake. I said I wanted to stay till the 15th (which is Monday) instead of 14th (Sunday) I guess that's why it was more expensive.
But my party agreed to stay that extra day anyway so that we dont have to scramble around checking out on Sunday. Still, I find it kind of uncool that we don't get the rate for at least Friday and Saturday... but yeah, guess that's what happens to last minute people. There's not much availability now and I'm taking what I can get.
Thanks again! =D

As in Thursday, Friday, Saturday, AND Sunday nights? Or just Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights?

The discounted rate should count for Thursday and Sunday, so long as you're reserving Friday or Saturday (or both) during the stay. If you tried reserving Thursday or Sunday alone, you wouldn't get the discount.

The tax got me confused. What I did was add the tax along with the room price and multiply it by three and got my correct cost. I was multiplying my room for the three nights, then adding the tax. I think i  figured it out. Thanks for you help though ^_^

Oh yeah. Forgot to mention something.

Last year, I checked out of my room on Sunday morning, and since I didn't have a car of my own, the hotel was more than happy to hold my bags until I was ready to leave.

If this was a worry for anyone, you can ask at the front desk on Sunday morning after you've checked out and they'll be happy to store your belongings. ^~^

Is there any other hotels that are around the tech center (with reasonable prices and within close range of the con)? If there are, I would like to know what and where they are, plus how much per night.

There are plenty there is the Wyndham which is right across the street, the Hyatt Regency which is within walking distance, The Hyatt Suites and Hampton Inn are about 2 blocks down off of DTC Blvd and the Ramada and Motel 6 on the other side of I-25.

Thank you. This really helps a whole lot, since I found out that the Marriott was booked the weekend of the convention. But this really helps me and (hopfully) everyone else that plans to stay the whole weekend there. Thanks again ;).

We're getting close to the time when the hotel usually sells out, but did you specifically mention that you were registering for NDK? Even if there are rooms available, they won't tell you (or let you book them) unless you're here for NDK.
