In 2009, it began...

In 2010, it became well known...

In 2011, it will be legendary!

Hey all, I'm officially announcing the return of the 2011 Elitches cosplay meetup for the month of May. A date has been set and is expecting fun times to come once again in this well known meetup for 2011.

As usual we will be meeting up at the front of the park near the big rules sign and after everyone has gathered, we will enter the park and have fun in cosplay with the potluck picnic along with great times with the NDK community. So everyone lets get this meetup planned and a going.

Elitches Cosplay Round 1

Saturday May 21st at 10:00 Am

2000 Elitch Circle, Denver, CO 80204

Meeting at the front of Elitches near the rules sign at 10:00.

Who is coming?!

Few rules for this event!!!

1. NO DRAMA

2. Keep weapons and chain props and accessories at home

3. Have fun

YAY!  I will totally be attending.  Just need to speak with my mom about a ride.  Do you want people to bring food for the potluck again?  Well I mean we always do but what sorts of hings would you want us to bring this time?

I'm giong to be doing Sunshine Sketch character, I think that would be the best bet considering it is breazy and not over doing it.

Also, if we do a potluck thing again, any possibility to make it "you bring food, you eat". I remember last time,that was a HUGE problem D:

That's a good idea but at the same time it isn't. I was one of those people that couldn't bring food due to money issues and so were a lot of other people. It's just not right that only those that bring food can eat when that is the only food those people can eat for the whole day and that really isn't good at all.

Then possibly people bring two dishes?  Those who can of course.  And Crad!  I forgot about the cosplay side of things.  I will have to see if I can't pull some thing together... I still have time ^_^

I understand the money issue, but I found it a bit unfair when people who didn't bring food were some of the first to be in line to get some grub. We all have money issues, I just don't think it's fair for people to be eating if they cannot contribute. I mean, chips aren't a big deal, we had a TON of those...but at the same time, if there wasn't a potluck, people would have to fend for themselves and it would be 1. More expensive  and 2. Be no different than if you didn't eat because you didn't contribute...

And is it really fair for people to be buying food so lots of others, who cannot add, in eat?

Last time it was there fault because they could have said that if you didn't bring food you will have to wait till everyone else that did bring food got theirs and besides

It's just inhuman to eat in front of those that cant eat and a starving and they can't bring food into the park. I understand that everyone has money problems but some are worse then others

I, personally, agree with Keiki on the issue of food.

People who didn't bring something to contribute shouldn't really be eating, that much, anyway. I mean, even you are totally broke, I'm sure people could manage to buy something small that's $3 or less at a store. And I don't know about anyone else, but I could probably find around that many coins in my sofa.

It's not fair for the people who do bring food, nor do I think it would be fair for people to feel compelled to spend more of their own money and bring 2 or more dishes, so that those who don't supply any food for anyone else can have a chance to eat. (Though, granted, if they just did it because they wanted to or were feeling generous then we should nearly crush them with glomps and hugs X3).

It's just common sense and rude to be sitting there and eating in front of people that are starving... You know what lets let the person running this event decide instead of us arguing over something so "Trivial" and who can eat and who can't.

I understand everyones concerns but I do agree with roxaslover. Sure its wrong to not bring anything but it is also unfair and rude for folks who didn't bring anything to deny them food. That's why we have the rule "highly encouraged but not required" to bring food for the picnic. We encourage you to bring stuff, but even if you don't, you won't be denied food at all.
