question on the percebtages rule
« on: January 31, 2011, 07:48:53 pm »
OK. Thinking of actually making one for competition. But I'm debating on how do complete a certain part.

There is a rule about how much of the costume can be bought, etc. I have tried in the past to make fishnet tops.... and I have failed miserably. A costume I am thinking of making has a fishnet top under her kimono. But only a small triangle of it actually shows. If I were to just buy a fishnet top, would the percentage of costume being bought include the whole It? Or just the small little triangle at shows?

If the shirt is the only thing you buy (besides accessories like shoes, wigs, jewelry, ect.) then you'll be fine.
The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person doing it.

Instead of making a whole shirt you could do something like this.

I got a question on this as well. So I'm putting together a Tron Legacy outfit that consists of some custom wiring with flexible LED strips, battery packs, and lots of electric tape. Plus severe lighting modifications to some store bought toys from Target, all mounted on a store bought spandex suit with BMX armor (also bought) to get the idea of a tron character across. The creativeness is in the lighting and electrical work. I suppose this wouldn't count?

Edited: Ha ha never mind. I just now noticed the rule on things being of Asian origin. Guess it doesn't matter

I made that mistake a couple years ago. Tried to make Tyrael from Diablo 3. >_< Sad day.
