That idea works for me. If I had a big enough home I'd offer to host, but my condo can only hold a few people.
Planned cosplays for 2012:
Big Boss (Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater), Black Waltz 3 (Final Fantasy IX), Nappa (Dragonball Z), The Stig's Spartan cousin (Halo/Top Gear mashup)

That's why people can RSVP. I know at my house, I could take 3-5 people comfortably unless I set stuff up outside. So maybe adding "room for X amount of people" could be added onto the mini events.

That sounds like a fantastic idea! Cuz, honestly, hehe, I really like making cosplay and helping people with it, but I don't so much like wearing it sense...let's be honest...it's never comfy haha...^-^

That depends on the character! My Snake costume is very comfortable, but I'm sure that my Halo armor will be very hot and cumbersome. It'll be a small price to pay for serious awesomeness.

Back on topic... ::)
Any suggestions for a time and place? I'm going to be more open on Saturdays soon.

I love this idea, Gidastra! I'm interested! At this time I'm in a process of moving, so I'll post availability later on. But I think Rabbit-san has the right idea with the example. For a suggestion; besides working costumes and props, we could also work on wigs for our cosplay.

If people want to work on wigs, I am TOTALLY open to helping. I've gotten really, really good and spiking ant pony tails. Okay, maybe I need to do the hosting soon.

I use to live in Weld County as well Kagallie, but I moved to Boulder County. My availability is varied now, due to working 6 days a week. My only day off is this upcoming Friday. If we could get dates up, than I could try to request them as a day off.

I'm always up to assist others, and work on my cosplay as well. I'll be getting paid here soon and working in a group would certainly make the tiresome task of constructing armor a lot less.. well.. monotonous.

My skills are limited when it comes to offering aid though. I'm really only good at hand sewing and it's not one of my favorite things in the world to do. Seems like everytime I touch a sewing machine something goes wrong and things get into a tangled mess.

Granted I do feel pretty comfortable when it comes to certain foam materials in constructing armor. I've got the needed tools if anyone needs help with something along those lines. If a place is set in stone, I'm free pretty much all the time. My schedule is usually quite flexible.

I live in Lakewood, so as long as the meeting isn't planned all the way out in like.. Pueblo, I'm pretty much good to go. xD

Edit: I guess it seems like a trivial thing, but I'd personally prefer not to be the only one there whose over 18 years of age. I may only be 21, but hanging out with a buncha minors is just.. odd. But maybe that's just me.

You're not the only one Locke. Being over 30 and surrounded by minors makes me feel like a perv, even though I'm not.

Should I make a Poll for a few upcoming weekends? Who is willing to host and for how many people? I can take 3-5 in my home tops on a saturday evening or a sunday afternoon.

If it helps, I'm 20. A poll would help. If need be, I'm willing to host, but that might have to wait for a while due issues with the condo. Also, if I should host, is there anyone with cat allergies?

I'm 18 :x

And I can ask the local community center if they'd donate a room, but it would be in Weld County so probably a bit of a drive for anyone ._. But I can for sure ask, their rooms would hold 1-50 depending on the room.

Ooh, good call. Cat allergies would be an issue at my place too.

I'll talk to the wife about what weekends would work for my place then I'll throw up a new thread with a date poll for me. It would be in Parker.

25 here (since we're throwing out ages) and I also have a cat to deal with.
However, I'm doing the same thing as Ronin and talking with the fiance' about if we can host something in the next upcoming weeks.

I'd love to host, and with the layout of my place I could probably get...uhm...a LOT of people(and I have five sewing machines).  However.  Weekends will NEVER work for me.  I work EVERY one of them as part of my job.  I'd be willing to host weekday/evening gatherings, so just wanted to put that out there.

And I, uhm...quintuple the 'awkward being older' bit...but I get over it LOL

For Anybody on the West Side of Denver - we're doing a cosplay meet up Sunday at my house near C-470 and Hampden (within hearing range of Bandimere Speedway).  We're specifically working on Ears and tails and paws this weekend.

Anyone is welcome~
Regards,
Lady McDeth
