Cosplay-Making Meet-up
« on: January 31, 2011, 07:29:30 pm »
I've always been curious if people would be interested in a group of us meeting up at someone's house(could even be mine) to sit and have a time to work on their cosplay.  Some people have a certain method, and they don't like to work in groups.  I like having other people around.  We don't even have to talk much.  It's just a fun way to see how others work, get tips, and work on getting those costumes ready for NDK, hehe.  I'm making two or three this year, so it's going to be a lot for me. But if anyone is interested, maybe we could plan something?
-This year, I'm designing my own steampunk-lolita costume and it's looking amazing so farr

And if we have it at NY place, it would be such a horrible commute for you Katie LOL. I was thinking of having one every other week or once a month. Who knows
We did this last year, and had maybe 5 or 6 sewing machines in a room of a bunch of us working diligently. Was fun lol

I know whatever will I do, a whole 5 minute commute!! I'll grab pie on my way in. ^__^

Seriously though this sounds really fun. I've been a total slacker on getting stuff done so doing stuff as a group would be super helpful I think.

This would actually be fun to do. I'd love to help out. I have a serger and sewing machine if needs be. Technically, I live 20 minutes north of Denver but I normally don't mind a commute once in a while.

Most days off are the Saturday and Sunday, though every third week I get Wednesday off instead of Saturday.

I'm interested!!  If I can figure out what is wrong with my Featherweight I'd be able to bring it along too (really worried about it... it's my baby!).

Otherwise, I'd have to lug the Viking along D:

I'd be interested too. =] I'm a beginner when it comes to sewing (I used to know but I forgot) and I'm working on 3 cosplays for NDK this year. It'd be nice to get other people's perspectives on how to go about making my costumes. I don't have much experience with crafting but I make props out of wood (Keyblades so far) and jewelry (Mostly crystal beads and hairpins.) so if anyone needs that sort of help, I'd be glad to.

My free days are Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. I'm also free after 1:30 on Tuesdays and after 3:30 on Mondays and after 4:30 on Fridays. I'm up in Greeley too.

I would be interested in coming, But it would depend on where it is and when.  So.... Shall we maybe plan when and where?

I'm just thinking, because we're all doing the "yes! let's do it" should we just set up smaller events and people can host at houses if/when they can and just post those days?
IE: THIS IS AN EXAMPLE, NOT A REAL DATE
May 28
Rabbit's house - Westminster (PM for direct address)
11am to 5pm.

And if people can come to that day, just RSVP and we can just have mini meetups for all this.

yes/no? I'm really not trying to take over this, I'm just thinking out loud.
