It seems there isn't a topic on this... and i got a bit curious.

Did any of you meet your special someone at NDK, NDK NYE, Wasabi, etc?

We met at the first NDK NYE party through a mutual friend. We're going on a year solid of being nearly inseparable. ^_^

TT^TT I wish i did... But a good couple of friends of mine sure did meet a significant other around cons and meet ups. One of those couples are going to anounce their relationship relatively soon to some of their other friends. Looks like things for them are going really good ^_^

No, but convention going brought us together a lot.

Met him online initially, but we didn't really talk, A-M-V.org ftw. Finally met him at Acen of Chicago, IL. Now I live with him. 2 years in July ;p

I originally met him at a DDR tournament in May09 but I didn't get to know him until NDK09. I ended up sitting next to him in the DDR room line first thing Friday and we became friends.
We've officially been together since last October, but it seems like so much longer than that. We had kinda clicked really well by Sunday of 09.

I wish I was around to see the NYE marriage proposal. I left the dance for that half hour because we thought it was gonna be boring... I ended up seeing the video later. So cute, congrats to you guys. (:

I didn't technically meet my boyfriend at NDK but we did ask each other out the weekend of 2010. lol. NDK weekend will always be our anniversary!! Woot! n__n

Actually, yeah! Lee was working security for NDK for years and I never once met him until maybe 2009, he was actually the first person to help me during a panic attack, he was the first person to keep me from getting my legs to lock. He walked around the convention and I didn't notice him until RMFC and then I started to piece it all together. From 2005-2008, the guy was basically dogging the steps and doing his job, and then lol....Lee and I started to really get to know each other as friends, not to mention he pieced together a few other things! Including a missing credit card, which we never found....a missing room key that was never found, and also they fact he knew most of my friends....geez...I love this guy

I actually met my special someone at one of the pre-meets of NDK (2009 I think). Haha I nearly killed her with an attack hug heh~ eh...Well I felt really bad about it, and sent her a PM apologizing for my behavior, and ended up asker her out a couple days later *0*
And we have been together ever since =W=!

And AWWWWW Rabbit ;A; We were all huddled together in front of the stage crying during that!! Awww I am so happy for you two! <3

I've made some friends/acquaintances at "cons" but can't imagine meeting the someone special in that environment.

Not to say I think anything negative, just that I don't think I have the personality to start something in that intense, pressure packed kind of situation! Good on those of you who have though, I bow to your greatness.

Actually stranger things have happened in to many people....finding Lee was a shot in the dark, he worked security at two conventions that I knew quite well...and it turned out he knew several people I hung out with. He also was one of the people who made off with a the left over cake from a small meet in my hotel room....that was back several years ago...I was a bit shocked he remembered me.

Sometimes you meet people at a convention then get to know them outside it and find they are just about the same as you are. I met a lot of people at NDK that I know personally outside the convention as friends now. Though there are a few people who shall remain nameless that were not good friends.

There are many people who can find just about anyone they are looking for, it is all a matter of luck and understanding.

I met my special someone before NDK 2010 through a mutual friend but it was that weekend that I really got to know him. The week before my car had broke down and there was no way to really get to Denver from Fort Collins without a car. He had heard through our friend about that and offered a ride and even offered to pay for my weekend pass. I refused at first but he was very persistent. We've been inseparable ever since and I've never been happier.
