Alright, well since there is some interest in this, I have compiled a list of all the anime I got on DVD/Bluray...  As I have warned it is HUGE.  Took me bout 50 minutes to inventory em all, and I still am probably forgetting a straggler or 2.

Only missing an anime starting with Y and I will have the whole alphabet!

Well here's the list, and yes I DO in fact like to collect obscure stuff that no one has ever heard of, what gave it away?

Lol, I have been collecting anime since the late 90's (I remember saving up allowance for almost a year to get all of Trigun), that's plenty of time to grow a massive collection.

So yeah, lets do this then:  We do a "regular" meetup this month (I still proposing the 23rd, feel free to pitch times and/or other dates that would be convenient for y'all), with the topic of discussion being where to take this in the future.  Should we form our own anime club for instance, and if so where and how often do we hold it?  Should we continue just doing lunch/dinner meetups for as long as we have things to discuss?  Cosplay meetups?  Maybe all of the above?

I would favor the anime club (cosplay optional :D), and should we take that path I am gonna make damn sure to try to keep people involved in one way or another.  No point in forming a club these days if all that happens is a bunch of ppl show up to silently watch a DVD then everyone goes home, if you gonna do that then may as well just borrow the DVD and watch it by yourself.

**phew** It's been a while since I've looked at this thread XD Lemme see~

Seeing as the 23rd is a Sunday, if I want to go it really depends on the time. I would suggest starting at noon or a few hours later, for the people who have Church or other religiously related activities on Sunday mornings (myself included of course). However, really, a Saturday (or the 22nd) would work better for me personally. Seeing as there isn't really a limit as to how early we can start (within reason of course, as in, not before 9-10), same with the time to stop (though more than 7 hours would be a VERY long meetup xD).

Okay, on to the next one. I think an anime club would be a great idea! Seeing as what you said with the sitting around and watching anime thing is all that the anime club at my school does (but I suppose that's what I get for being the President of a club filled with stereotypical otakus >>). So I would be delighted to get to be a part of something that actually does something ELSE! xP

Lunch/dinner meetup= delicious. But after a while of constantly doing that, we'd end up using a LOT of money. And seeing as we are otaku, whom don't really have money to spend in the first place, that doesn't sound like the absolute best idea, though it works.

Cosplay meetups= awesomeness. Though it does seem to be a constant theme that everyone goes to a cosplay meetup, and then have a tendency to go out to eat (though usually at a fast food place) afterwards. HOWEVER, there is an easy solution to this problem. Maybe a meetup at some park or another (I dunno, Rampart Park maybe?), and have each person bring some food item. Doing this at a park also means that there could be the possibility for soccer games, frisbee, and other active things like that, which could also mean that we could get a good workout~. (Plus the idea of a bunch of cosplayers running around, playing a semi-competitive game against each other, really makes me laugh xD Just imagine if we had something like the hero's of Kingdom Hearts against Organization XIII in a soccer match XDDD) Sounds like epic win to me~

All of the above= awesome in a can >8D

I do have a suggestion for a restaurant though, if we are planning on doing that again~ The name of the restaurant is HuHot, and it's a Mongolian grill. The location is near the Chapel Hills Mall, and here's the website for specifics: http://www.huhot.com/Locations/Colorado/Colorado_Springs. I've looked at the menu, and everything is fairly well priced, ranging around $10. And I believe that my parents said when they went there that there was also a buffet option. Sounds perfect to me. However (I know, I keep using that word a lot), it has only just been opened recently (mid-December), and thus I would suggest going in either casual cosplay or just casual, because we don't want to scare any people away in case they think that every time they go there a bunch of crazy people dressed like weirdo's could show up at any minute.
I also personally know the owner, and probably about half of the servers in HuHot, and they are all very nice and mostly well behaved (and only not well behaved in the good way, as in they know how to have fun), so I know that we would get great service and have a pretty darn good time. (In other words, a high probability that we aren't going to get any or many weird stares from our servers.)

All right, that's all my input for now, and dang that turned out very long. If you actually took the time and read all of this, I applaud you. Feel free to comment on whatever, I was just voicing my opinion. ~

Good points, keep that in mind so we can discuss it in person next meet :D.  I choose Sunday mainly because there is free parking downtown, but if we go to a place that is not downtown (like HuHot, it has its own lot right?) then Saturday or even lunch/dinner meets on weekdays are no issue for me (weekdays I gotta work around my work/school schedule though).

So first off lets settle on a place, I am indifferent myself, so y'alls start voting and if nothing prevails ima just roll a dice (plus if we keep this up every month we can hit every place eventually).  After we got the place and thus know whether or not its downtown we can talk about the date?

p.s. I am all for doing some physical activity as part of a meetup, but I doubt very many people would want to in cosplay, that stuff can be quite fragile and expensive.

Yeah, HuHot has it's own parking lot. It's not downtown or anything, so no fees for parking~ (YIPEE~ 8D)

And yeah, that was one of reasons why I debated whether or not to put that down. The only solution I could think to that would be casual cosplay (aka, normal clothes and a wig xD), but even then there is a small chance that running around in wig's would get a bit dirty, plus getting sweaty. I suppose something like that could be further discussed to see what other people think about it~ 83

Heh, College is starting up here soon, like monday. And I have been debating going to class dressed up as Inuyasha, minus his sword.  But I'm not sure if my cosplay outfit can hold up to being washed and worn daily. Plus people might think I don't wash my clothing or shower. . Not the message I want to bring out.  But I might show up the first day in full gear and then just a wig for the rest. Or go out and have a pro remake the cosplay outfit and make two of them with definable markings to show that there are more than just one.

But here I go Derailing a topic, but It somewhat relates to the subject so minor derailment?

Alright, so since we went downtown last time how about this time we do HuHot, on Saturday (22nd), at around noon or so?

Well, I can't make it.  ...xD; For one thing I just woke up an hour ago and my main means of transportation is gone.

But I hope everyone has a good time!

Lol don't worry, you didn't miss much!

Either I was the only one there or we just couldn't find each other (DAMN it was crowded, great food though).  I am going to have to plan this better next time, I'll get to that here shortly.

Anyway, conveniently just yesterday I finally advanced to the 21st century and replaced my old brick with a smartphone, so for the first time ever I have texting capability.  If you want you can PM me your # and I'll send you mine as well, and then I can just send you text updates with all the important bits.

It's true! You really didn't.

And it was we just couldn't find each other. Which makes me SAD ;; Me and my friend were outside waiting for 40 minutes but we didn't see anyone. I did see that it was crowded though, which lead us to (after our wait) head over to the Chapel Hills Mall and get some food. It probably didn't help that the decision was made pretty much last minute though xD

Congrats! But unfortunately I am not in the 21st century, nor... even really the 20th century, and thus have no phone at all whatsoever xP I may ask you for your number anyway though, just so I can call you from a cell phone if I can happen to steal borrow one of my family member's, and thus be able to contact you anyway. It seems like communication was a bit of an issue this time round xD LOL I had fun nonetheless~
