**phew** It's been a while since I've looked at this thread XD Lemme see~
Seeing as the 23rd is a Sunday, if I want to go it really depends on the time. I would suggest starting at noon or a few hours later, for the people who have Church or other religiously related activities on Sunday mornings (myself included of course). However, really, a Saturday (or the 22nd) would work better for me personally. Seeing as there isn't really a limit as to how early we can start (within reason of course, as in, not before 9-10), same with the time to stop (though more than 7 hours would be a VERY long meetup xD).
Okay, on to the next one. I think an anime club would be a great idea! Seeing as what you said with the sitting around and watching anime thing is all that the anime club at my school does (but I suppose that's what I get for being the President of a club filled with stereotypical otakus >>). So I would be
delighted to get to be a part of something that actually does something ELSE! xP
Lunch/dinner meetup= delicious. But after a while of constantly doing that, we'd end up using a LOT of money. And seeing as we are otaku, whom don't really have money to spend in the first place, that doesn't sound like the absolute best idea, though it works.
Cosplay meetups= awesomeness. Though it does seem to be a constant theme that everyone goes to a cosplay meetup, and then have a tendency to go out to eat (though usually at a fast food place) afterwards. HOWEVER, there is an easy solution to this problem. Maybe a meetup at some park or another (I dunno, Rampart Park maybe?), and have each person bring some food item. Doing this at a park also means that there could be the possibility for soccer games, frisbee, and other active things like that, which could also mean that we could get a good workout~. (Plus the idea of a bunch of cosplayers running around, playing a semi-competitive game against each other, really makes me laugh xD Just imagine if we had something like the hero's of Kingdom Hearts against Organization XIII in a soccer match XDDD) Sounds like epic win to me~
All of the above= awesome in a can >8D
I do have a suggestion for a restaurant though, if we are planning on doing that again~ The name of the restaurant is HuHot, and it's a Mongolian grill. The location is near the Chapel Hills Mall, and here's the website for specifics:
http://www.huhot.com/Locations/Colorado/Colorado_Springs. I've looked at the menu, and everything is fairly well priced, ranging around $10. And I believe that my parents said when they went there that there was also a buffet option. Sounds perfect to me. However (I know, I keep using that word a lot), it has only just been opened recently (mid-December), and thus I would suggest going in either casual cosplay or just casual, because we don't want to scare any people away in case they think that every time they go there a bunch of crazy people dressed like weirdo's could show up at any minute.
I also personally know the owner, and probably about half of the servers in HuHot, and they are all very nice and mostly well behaved (and only not well behaved in the good way, as in they know how to have fun), so I know that we would get great service and have a pretty darn good time. (In other words, a high probability that we aren't going to get any or many weird stares from our servers.)
All right, that's all my input for now, and dang that turned out very long. If you actually took the time and read all of this, I applaud you. Feel free to comment on whatever, I was just voicing my opinion. ~
