Huh, Kinda reminds me of the Sharon Apple concert from Macross Plus
Planned cosplays for 2012:
Big Boss (Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater), Black Waltz 3 (Final Fantasy IX), Nappa (Dragonball Z), The Stig's Spartan cousin (Halo/Top Gear mashup)

Even though I haven't really jumped on the Vocaloid band wagon myself, I have to say that is pretty neat. :D

I watched this before for a while now and I think it's neat and weird at the same time. Here's my thing, I don't 'hate' vocaloids.  I love the style and different variations in themes they have from their original styles to MagNEt and SandPlay etc etc etc. They look cooler than most things out there, but the one thing I don't like are the actual songs- which is most of the reason for the popularity. It's all synth and sounds really fake and too robotic for me to get into. It's worse than Autotune. There's one song I like "Honey" because the synth sound fits it's cuteness. Other than that it's just bleh :p

michi_0226:  Why does your friend hates the Vocaloids?

toadstoolssecretluvchii:  Everyone has their Opinions.  Romeo and Cinderella was the first song I ever listened to, then I got hook with them like a snap of a fingers.  *smiles*

michi_0226:  Why does your friend hates the Vocaloids?

She believes that it's wrong that the people who actually make the songs the Vocaloids sing don't get any credit.  ..She also believes that Vocaloids are taking jobs from real singers.  So she was really pissed off about the Hatsune Miku concert since "it could have been a real person up there"

But they DO get credit.  Both the people that make the songs and the singers that provide the voicebanks for the individual Vocaloids do get credit for their work.

^^ I really, really love vocaloids(Len being my favorite).  And I agree, the songs have so much variety. But I think the one thing I love about vocaloids are that actual people do amazing covers of the song. My example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gi0WaGDtJck

Yeah Raicheru. When I first heard about Vocaloids and looked it up on Youtubez I thought those were the actual voices and thought it was neat. I later found out the songs I were hearing were 'covers' and the vocaloids were synthesized and robotic and became greatly disappointed, but they are cute still ^^.

Oh and Luka-the pink haired one- is my favorite looking one. She's hot :P

The only song I can tolerate with the synth sound is Honey to be honest. The sound sorta fits and it's a lil easier to understand what they're saying. And the dance is adorable ^^

If ya don't know

He's smoking hot!!!  And I love the song Paranoid doll.  He sings it well!

toadstoolssecretluv: I know the entire dance by heart!  LOL!

Raicheru:  I love len too!  He's awsome with Rin!

That's what I thought.. But apparently the fact that people are fans of Hatsune Miku, Megurine Luka, the Kagamine twins, ETC.. instead of being fans of the people who wrote the songs/provided the voice banks, is enough to garner hatred for her.  o3o

Me.. I like the Vocaloids because.. "Oh pretty!" and "nice clothes!"  As for the singing.. a lot of people hate the whole synth sound of it, and I've heard it referred to as "soulless" before. ... I can't say I LIKE the synthy-robotic sound..but if you THINK of it as a computer/robot singing, instead of comparing it to a HUMAN singing.. it becomes different.  ...Apples and oranges, so to speak.

But...that's like hating people for being fans of anime/video game characters instead of the voice actors that provide the voices for said characters.  No offense to your friend; it just doesn't make sense to me, though.

The robotic sounding voices is the only reason I don't fully like the Vocaloids.  I think Len is the most adorable chocobo Vocaloid out of the bunch, but his singing voice makes me cringe sometimes.

I would totally go to a Vocaloid concert if one were held in Colorado, though I admit it would partly be to see the types of people who would show up to one here in the US (and see if any body pillows can be spotted, lol).  And partly cause I would love to see that technology at work.  Don't hurt that I actually like quite a bit of the songs.

I'd go just for the fun of it, but think I'm gonna sing along or anything.

But it's hard to like something robotic sounding when at first you heard it as a normal singer :P

At some point I'm gonna start doing Vocaloid art in my gallery of illustrations, but could use some help. Does anyone know where I can get a gallery of their cool variant looks like Magnet, Sandplay etc etc  ?!?

That would help

Hey!  We all got opinions.  When I heard the original songs after the vocaloid versions...  forgive me, but vocaloids sound a little better to me.

Hm...  I think I can assist you with that.  I know someone that has some pictures descriptions for Magnet, Romeo and Cinderella, and Canterella (Song that Kaito sings)  Possibly she might have something along with Alice Human Sacrifice.
