Mile Hi Con
« on: October 20, 2010, 03:01:53 am »
Hey, I was going to Mile Hi Con (as I have since I was born) and I was kind of wondering if any NDKers wanted to meet up and hang there. This is a really short notice message seeing as MHC is this Friday the 22nd.

Hey, I was going to Mile Hi Con (as I have since I was born)
..at first I was all "I'm not that old yet, am I? :D" but then I looked, and I was like "old con is old, wow! :o"

Can't say I plan on attending, but seems like a good ol fashioned gathering of the nerds. I hope you have an absolute blast. :)

I'm gonna be there all three days; can't say I've been going as long as some, but I do enjoy it!  I'll be running around like a crazy person...oh wait...that's me at every con!

I'm going to be there all three days as well. Shall we meet up at sometime? I'm usually surrounded by a group of my fanboys. Or playing werewolves of miller's hallow in the hallway or something.

I"ve honestly no idea what I"ll be doing  ???  I'm apparently drafted to help friends help set up the art room on Friday, then after that no idea, Saturday I'll be running a panel and attending the Masq, and Sunday no ideas LOL  Most likely a lot of Settlers of Catan and other games if I can find my freakin' boxes!  As well as watching the critter crunch!  I'll be sporting costumes each day so I should be easy enough to spot.  The Queen from Sleeping Beauty Friday, a blue and brown steampunk outfit Saturday and a Bleach ensemble on Sunday, feel free to poke at me if you spot me!

I totally will. I'm going to be Roxas on Saturday so, if you spot me don't hesitate to like, glomp me.

lol, no glomping, at least not in my costumes, my mobility is at the 'stately walk' level...well...all but Sunday.

I saw you. My friend even pointed you out because you were dressed as Bleach and I was 1. to nervous to talk to you and 2. I didn't want to be wrong. I however was not Roxas on Saturday. I couldn't because my roomies slept most of saturday and when I turned on the lights to simply change pants they yelled at me. But, saturday night my hair was all crazy and I had eyeliner stitches all over my face if you even saw me.

If there is, I haven't found it. It's one of those cons that isn't fun for you unless you make it fun. You have to be the one doing the work. I hear that most people aren't willing to. And if you do put in the work to have fun one year you have fun the years to come. That and it's not as memorable since my dad passed, my dad was a good contributer to the fun there.

LOL WafflezelffaW you should never be too afraid to talk to me!! I'm a nice person...well...I try to be a nice person, and I was feeling reeeeeeeeeeeeeeally abandoned all weekend since I saw next to no one in cosplay(unless they were in my party).  I was keeping my eyes open for you saturday, but I was moderating/running/participating on panels all day so didn't get to spend a LOT of time outside of the rooms.
I was lucky to run into a very friendly Russia, Canada and Turkey, so if you see this say hi again!

O.o This would be said by someone that hasn't obviously gone.  The presenters are great, the guests are super nice, the staff is ridiculously friendly and helpful, and the average MileHiCon-goer is super fun to be around.  I think it's a shame too many people blow off this convention just because they don't think it's worth it.

Which this then raises a question:  What do YOU, the average NDKer, feel makes a good con?(staff I can move this part to a new post in a different section, I'm just curious). Er, moved this question here.  So help fill my curiosity!

Yeah I was also being hit on by a few of my guy friends so I was alright. My apologies for not being in cosplay.

Agreed. the staff is extremely nice. (I have to say that most of them are my family.) hah. Nah they are really nice and if you can't find anything to do, volunteer.

Oh! Oh!
I was there. Did anyone get any pictures?
Me and my friend were the Zim and GIR traipsing around.

Glad the makeup covered up my blushing, I was so nervous XD!

Are we good to discuss MHC here?

I was looking for NDKers but I'm super shy. :(
And the dealers rooms was a bit of a let down, not because of the size.
Anyway~ yeah

I was there working with Avistrum, MileHiCon is our biggest show.
http://avistrum.org/

I spent a good portion of Saturday afternoon/night in the gameing area. I had a good time played some games I never knew exsisted and just hung out. I've never sat around and played games at the convention before, it was a nice change. ^__^

I probably saw you around. I was in and out of the game room with my friends.

This was my first MileHiCon. 'Twas fun, even though I was only there for a portion of the day-- I even ran into a few NDK green room friends!

I was part of the group pimping out Anomaly Con, so thanks to everybody who stopped by our table and attended our steampunk panels (I TOTALLY hadn't looked at the fashion panel since NDK >_>;;)
