Well, i TRIED to do 'Card Games on Motorcycles!' and no one really got the reference. How bout something smiliar to that? 'CHILDRENS CARD GAMES!' or something?

I was tired of the game last year, actually I've been tired of it since it started. It really needs to stop. Its not funny. I propose no more "games" if they can even be called that.

The thing is, the game isn't even a game.  At least not at conventions.  Yelling out "YOU JUST LOST THE GAME!!" at the top of your lungs isn't a game.  Shouting "Butt scratcher!" isn't funny.  Also shouting Marco Polo isn't funny either.

Seriously though, "the game" was already pretty old several years ago, and while it's an idea that's mildly amusing at first, I'm a little afraid of people who think it has more than 30 seconds worth of entertainment value.

I'm sad that it infected anime conventions, and that it has continued for more than a year, because it's basically the only thing I dislike about NDK.  I don't know if it happened this year, but last year people were actually interrupting guest speakers during panels to announce how much they were losing.  Now, people can do whatever they want with their friends in the noisy hallways, but being disrespectful to the con guests is a serious problem.

I am 20.. and I stopped playing THE GAME in middleschool....

I agree.. it would be fun to think of something else.. unfortunately...it seems to keep getting passed through the generations...

When someone yelled it out in the middle of our Video Game trivia show. I just replied "You lost the game when you started playing it years after that joke started."

It's very annoying but I've come to realize it's not something you can stop people from doing unfortunately.

I'm sure there is SOME kind of con tradition that could be done that would be fun however I must say I can't think of ANYTHING. There was the Caramelldansen a few years ago, and This year I just Started to Judge Peoples intelligence and really wanted to throw something at anyone who mentioned the game about half way through friday. I have patience Issues.... >.<

It's not just that, Anything that is too repetitive is just going to get ridiculously annoying very quickly. I know people are just hyped up on con high and trying to have fun, but perhaps people could try to be a little more mindful and maybe even try to keep these games with in their group of friends or even personally to people individually so at least the person can ask them not to do it again?

Back when I used to play the game with my friends we used to "Lose to often" so we decided you couldn't lose unless it was creative (Like we used to send each other cakes that had "The game" on them or make build-a-bears that had it in their voive boxes) Maybe people can do more low key friends stuff like that so the rest of us can ignore it if we so choose....

yeah pretty much what  ol' Hen just said. Some people just need loud attention because they aren't gonna get it any other way-thus the Game yells and Butt scratcher chants and VuVuZelas. It's like a desperate cry for attention :P

how about a new idea for a game.

1- lets think of the convention grounds as the game floor.
2-if you 'lose the game' then you need to actually lose the game and leave the con til its over.
3-security can just escort you out for good and take you badge and just learn to not lose so much :/

so the best thing to do in order to 'win the game' is to keep your mouth shut.

I will admit, I am a game player, but I wasn't one of the ones shouting it across the hotel. Also, I don't get the buttscratcher thing, but I do agree, it seriously does need to stop. Hmm...but if someone does say it everyone should just do the Carmeldansen.
