I LOVED all the panels this year, but one thing I ran into was the fact that there was some running at the same time that I wanted to go in. And the other panels filling up with only one time to go to them.  There was four that, that happened to me, one of witch i was the next in line. I also hung around there talking to some people and witnessed four people leave the panel and when I tried to enter I was asked to leave due to to many people in there, and there was empty chairs. Instead of pointing it out I just left.

P.S. re-posted from another thread. I was going to edit the other one to go with topic but unable to edit due to it being locked.

You know I'll say this about the Dealer's Room.  It's always crazy with people going backwards, stopping, whatnot.  And while staff may shoot this down, I for one have no problem telling people to move it along if they're just stopping in the middle of the path, or in some way hindering traffic.  I think honestly if more of the regular con goers actually stepped up and tried to make people aware that they're causing problems it may help all around.  Again, maybe I'm overstepping myself in doing so but it's a habit I guess plus having to stop while I'm trying to browse because a couple people stop suddenly to chat in the middle of the Dealer's Room annoys me.

So NDK is far and away behind me, but I felt things went pretty well in NDK '10.  The hallways were a little annoying at times but that might be my own personal ire, since I feel if you're in the hallway you need to be moving, and not at a pace that would embarrass a snail.  If you're going to chat, step to the side, if you're going to putz along like a crippled snail move to the side and let people who know how to move get by.  Again, probably just me and I don't mean to offend anyone obviously I understand some people have handicaps and various other reasons for why they may not be moving fast through hallways, but those people aside there were plenty I just wanted to tell them to move it.

But that aside, it went well.  Dealer's Room is crazy as always but manageable.  The only thing, and obviously little can be done because it's because of the size of the con nowadays, but it's kind of a shame that every panel seems to have a long waiting line.  Or at least the ones I wanted to go to which may just be because they're all popular, who knows.  Does make things problematic especially when on Saturday I find myself having to plot out a schedule between autographs and panels and now having to get in line where unless you get there a half hour-an hour before the panel you'll most likely never get in kinda blows but hey, NDK has grown so it's something that next year I'll try and plan for more.  Or learn how to duplicate myself...yeah...that might work.

Oh one thing though, that bugged me.  The elevators.  Mainly the fact that during the con a couple times they divided the elevators by floor.  Which was all well and good except generally the vast NDK populous was on floors 1-5 so the line for that elevator was extremely long yet the other elevators had NO ONE waiting for them but we weren't allowed to get on those elevators.  Now this didn't happen all the time, some staff were cool about it.  And I get the need to divide elevators, not arguing that.  But next year I guess it'd just be nice if whoever was staffing the elevators would be more aware that if there's a huge line behind one elevator and the others are empty, let us use the other elevators.  Again, it wasn't every staff member, and I do know they were just doing their jobs, but it was irritating.

Um....I do have this to say, "WHERE WAS THE CATEGORY X AMVS?" Last year there wasn't any, what the heck happened?  I WANT IT BACK! AMVS were great and all, but I only go to see the competition for the Category X! I WANT THAT BACK!

Also I think it is rude that when I was heading to a pop machine on MY floor that convention security demanded i go back to my room! If I'm going to get a soda, I'm going to get MY SODA! No one comes between me and my soda! This happened on a Friday night, I was a little pissed about it...I'm sorry, but doesn't convention security only have the right to do that on convention floor, not on the room areas? I am sorry to report it, but it was kind of rude and also I was ONLY getting a soda and coming back to my room to play Munchkin.....

I was wondering if it's possible to mail out badges to people so we don't have to wait at the line. And last year there was a mix up with mine and it took an extra 30 minutes to finally get it. Wouldn't it be easier to just mail them out to those who pre-ordered?
Lelucy.... what would happen?

B: The world would become a wonderful place
Either way, the world would be better.

This idea has been brought up before and there really are many reasons why we've decided against it.

First is the fact that just by the sheer number of individuals who misplace their order confirmation e-mails tells us that many individuals would more than likely misplace and/or loose their badge before the convention weekend which would indeed cause more trouble for onsite registration than it's worth.

Second, though it's sad to admit there are dishonest individuals who've made attempts at copying badges. If we were to mail them out we'd have to mail them out at least a month in advance which would give such individuals opportunities to make copies.

Lastly, since NDK is almost exclusively pre-registration the sheer amount of mail we would have to send out would have a hefty postage fee on it which would have to be mitigated and unfortunately means we'd have to push this on to the attendees. Which is something we've worked hard to prevent.

But on the plus side, we have started to open registration on the Thursday of the convention to pick them up early. This worked out so well this last year that we're going to do it again this year.

As a side note though. Printing out and bringing your confirmation e-mail with you will increase the odds of you moving through registration faster. Though we make every attempt to alleviate issues technology isn't perfect as such it's best to plan for the worst.

I would actually be one to loose the badge, believe me, unless it was stapled to my shirt, I would so lose anything. Also I do have this concern, what if you don't own a printer? I don't have one anymore and to be honest, running over to my complex's business office is not always an option considering that they charge us $1.25 per sheet.

You're not required to print out your confirmation e-mail. But it does help us in case there's any confusion regarding your badge.

There's also the option of libraries (don't know if they charge anything, probably depends upon the library) and friends being able to print it out.  But as Greg said, it's not necessary, just recommended.
PSN:  Skrae     3DS:  3308-4741-5349     Steam:  Skrae (the one with The Undertaker picture)

I can also help to identify bootlegs, if you have a questionable item, send me a message and some pictures if you can and I'll get back to you when I can.
