* Update *

Hello everyone
So yea it took me long enough to get this compiled, but running two amv events within a week of each other will do that.

We had 209 entries this year, an absolutely massive number compared to previous years and I'd like to thank each and everyone of you who contributed to this great event.  We had so many events I canceled my typical AMV-Coordinators choice showing to extend AMV Overload so more of these fantastic videos could be seen by our attendees.  The total number of videos to be shown at this years con may only be a small fraction of what was contributed, but everyone who contributed should be proud of this event.  Thank you again so much.

I made it into the Overload at least!  I am very excited!  Congrats to everyone who made it into the main event, can't wait to watch your stuff!

Question, the Overload is held in the Primrose room, not the main event room, correct?

I must say that I'll a little disappointed that I didn't even make it into the overload, but congratulations to everyone who made it in to either the overload or the actual contest. Maybe I'll make it in next year. I'm not going to let it get me down as it is my first convention and there's about 150 other editors who didn't make it in either. So I'm now more determined than ever to edit more, learn new programs, improve my skills, and make it in next year.
Again congratulations to everyone else, hope your videos do good.

Thank you for putting my video on the Overload list!  I was wondering if the overload list is in order?  and is there usually a long line for overload? Should I show up early for a seat, or is half hour/15 minutes ok?

I'm looking forward to the Contest, thank you to everybody who put in the hours(and hours) to make AMVs this year!

Thanks!

Typically each AMV event at the con is a packed full room and there is a line for all of them,  we also clear the room prior to each AMV event so sticking around at the event prior wont do much good.  Each event varies based on its popularity on how fast or long the line is so you may want to check on lines periodically if you are interested in a particular event.

A collection of judges from a variety of backgrounds watch all the videos submitted and then make their selections for what goes into the contest based on their own individual opinions.

At least I made it into the overload. :)  With over 200 vids, that is actually quite fortunate.  Can't wait to see the vids from some of my favorite editors!

I have another question, that may seem a little off but...  Being that I made it into the overload, I am curious as to how it works.  Is it just a screening of all the AMVs that made it into the overload?  There is no voting or anything like that, like in the main contest, correct?  Also, how is the primrose as far as AMV screening goes.  The main event room is so awesome, with pretty dang good sound quality and large screens.  How does the primrose compare, is it just a standard television or..?  Sorry for all the questions, I'm just excited and curious!

correct, overload is just a open screening of aditional videos submitted to the contest.  There will be no judgeing like at the main contest.  We simply get so many fantastic videos sent to us, it would be a crime to not have more seen, but alas the main contest can't run forever so sacrifices have to be made.

primrose by comparison to the size of main events is much smaller and holds  a fraction of the people, but we do our best to make sure that the viewing experience is just as good. A nice big screen, good projector and a fantastic sound system run by the best video tech crew in the con business.

Ah, that is great to hear.  I'm glad that it isnt just some 16 inch television!  (^_^)
I am really excited for both the main event and the overload.  Thanks for all the hardwork you are putting into this event!

This year was a full on amazing! A delicious banquet for the eyes, ears, and soul. Conrats to Radical Yue for Best Action! My vote made a diffrence! And I'm still laughing at Fad of Princely Caliber, though Springtime and Kanon in 5 Seconds are just as funny. Rah Hey was a great take on the very mythos behind AMV creating, ad As much as Driftting away touched my heart, CeaseFire just took it a step further. And even though it onlyt happened yesterday, I'm pumped for next years, as the bar has definattly been raised by the wonderful contrubutions to the Art of AMV.
