Your DREAM NDK..

If NDK could be anything you wanted, what would it be like?  More days? A larger hotel? Certain events?

If you could have the convention YOU wanted, what would it be like?

Please note that this is not a suggestion topic, but rather a "what if topic" This can be as realistic or unrealistic as you want.   Have fun folks!

I'll go with a bigger hotel. every panel room is as big  as the main. Maybe a sound friendly dance for those of us that can not do loud music (I my self get ill if the sound level gets to high)

Gotta agree that the perfect NDK would have huge panel rooms, with scheduling that doesn't conflict, and Hallways the width of football fields, and a jelly bean fountain full of only the tasty colors =)

Did you say I could be as un-realistic as I wanted? Well alright! I'd love for NDK to be held at an as of yet undisclosed hotel, but high tech and huge with enough garage parking for everyone. And right across the street..he he.. a huge abandoned factory complex or industrial park. Some place multi floor, with lots of stairwells, access tunnels, and a basement. And poorly lit. It would be the perfect place for more than a few photo shoots. And then, it's airsoft battle time! Pit various groups of cosplayers against each other. Like, all the Death Note cosplayers versus Final Fantasy cosplayers. Resident Evil versus Hello Kitty. You get the idea. And after running and gunning through the factory, there would be a DQ right there at the entrance and the best part is that it would be free with your full weekend registration.

I would dig NDK being a four day con like Fanime or AX n-n  We would all be more tired~ but comon~ more con!!
Oooo And some really awesome places around the hotel/center w/e for photoshoots!  The 2 fountains we have out side are cool, but it would be cool being near say: a rose garden, a beach, a giant chess set, or a pretty Pagoda X3

And yes, this topic can be as realistic, or unrealistic as you want it to be.  Your dream NDK may just be, an extra day, a formal dance, a maid cafe and an after midnight adults only hentai room, or it may be a huge stage with J-Pop idol singers, your favorite foods at your beck and call, and a real sized Gundam outside to greet con-goers.

Massive panel rooms that don't have fire code regulations... and all the staff members have personal clones so they can be every where at once and still get pleanty of sleep. Oh, and no lines

Uh, no lines though would be nice...I think I'd have to go with good size panel rooms.  And as part of pre-reg perks you get one of the time traveling things from Harry Potter so that way scheduling doesn't matter because you can be in fifty places at once.  Of course meeting yourself might be weird, but if you were expecting it then it wouldn't matter.  And sure maybe I'm being a scrooge for say only for pre-reg, but they there still should be perks for pre-regging, haha!

If I'm going to dream, I'll dream big. 

NdK would be a bunch of mini-anime cons linked together by teleportaion portals.  Each con would be specialized, so everyone can get what they want without over-crowding or confusion.  And travel will be snap because you'd be automatically transported to and from magical NDK con.

A bigger hotel, meals originating from Japan, and guest speakers from Japan. It would be great to see people like Ryo Horikawa, Keiichi Nanba, Nobuo Tobita, Megumi Ogata, Shigeru Nakahara, Keiko Han, Atsuko Tanaka, Akio Outsuka, Osamu Saka and Nana Mizuki.

Maybe not coffee but something that keeps us awake 24/4? Add on to my list. We move all the biggest panels to a football feild. every one has super glasses so they can see just fine.

Now a lot of these idea's are a little silly, and definatly impractical  but heck this would be my dream NDK.

For the AMV we'd rent out a movie theatre near the hotel and be able to watch the competition from those comfy chairs, not only that but be able to do it while eating popcorn, soda, and various candies from the consession stands (yeah, impractical but I can dream)

There would be a special mini-area in the hotel, maybe a eatery on wheels where you could order sushi which would be great for a convention involving japanese animation complete with chopsticks.

On a serious side among the special guests I'd want to invite would definatly include Juliet Cesario (Belldandy of Oh My Goddess-OVA, Peorth OMG-TV, Miyuki Kobyakawa-Your Under Arrest among others) for the sole reason of getting her signature on a fan cel I have of her character Belldandy before I took the cel and had it framed. Others I'd like to ask to come to the convention is Pam Wiedner and Lisa Ortiz.

I'd also like to bring back some of the classic games from NDK past like "Anime Match Game" or maybe "Anime Jepordy/Wheel of Fortune"

Bringing metal weapons might be kind of cool,
Also maybe some kind of crazy cosplay battle arena pitting different characters from different things against one another.
Everybody gets a voice modulator when they get their badge.

Also, when everybody gets their badge they're given a picture of a person.  Everybody has a picture of a person to assassinate (it's a game) they hunt somebody, they themselves are hunted by an unknown person.  The goal is to get that person alone with you so you may quietly destroy them, all the while avoiding the person who's out to get you.

I definatly agree on the 4day con. I also would love to see it split across multiple hotels so as to have more space. Make on hotel focus on panels and have the gaming while the main hotel will focus on main events, dealers room, and the larger panels. This could help prevent an atendance cap.
