Avatar: Legend of Korra
« on: July 21, 2010, 10:20:27 pm »
Avatar: Legend of Korra takes place 70 years after Avatar: The Last Airbender.  Korra is the next Avatar after Aang, "a passionate, rebellious, and fearless teenaged girl" who is hotheaded, independent and "ready to take on the world".  Korra comes from the Southern Water Tribe, and Aang and Katara's son Tenzin is her Airbending teacher.

I am alwayz the last one to learn about these things XD
But I for one am happy that they are continuing the series.  And flash backs from past series makes me giddy =B  I just hope its as good as the original series, and Hooray for more mature XD;;

Reactions?
Looking forward to it??

I hope this is in the right place.

I'm looking forward to it. I like that they went with a new story in the same world

Now I just need to finish watching the rest of the first series <_<;;

I'll admit, I'm a bit skeptical, but hopeful. Sequals have a history of not being as good as the original, so we shall see.

I'm in the same boat as Starstreaker. I'm hopeful and kind of excited, cause I'd really like to see more of the world and characters but at the same time, series that go past the point the creaters intended them to stop tend to get bad real quick. Or they just never end and they get old and boring (looking at you Naruto and Bleach).

But since this is about a set of new characters I'm hoping it'll be at least as good as the original and not stagnate like so many other series.
The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person doing it.

This is gonna sound totally sexist, but I really don't want the new main character to be a girl.

I loved Katara, Suki, and Toph in the last series. Very well rounded characters...

All I'm saying is that I want this main character to be seriously bad***. I don't want a whiny girl taken under the wing of the kid of the last Avatar. Like "The Next Karate Kid." Lame.

A little nervous about a sequel, but I know I'll still watch it.

Not all girls are whiny. I think it'll be a good change :]

But everyone knows that when the toy line comes out, we still wont see a Korra figure because she's female.  Lead of the series or not.  I mean look at The Last Airbender.  No Katara, instead they release Aang, Sokka, Zuko, and Blue Spirit.  Or the show's first toy line was Aang, Sokka, Zuko, and Random Fire Nation Soldier A.

Haha, I'd laugh in the new show's toyline is Spirit of Aang, Old Sokka, Ancient Firelord Zuko, and...Tanzen or better yet Random Republic City Non Bending Citizen A.

Hey does anything think we'll get a Cabbage Man?  I love the Cabbage Man, even am considering cosplaying as him for NDK some year.  Of course he wouldn't be THE Cabbage Man, but A Cabbage Man would be great.

LMAO! Ten points to Alitain. XD

I would die of laughter to see a Cabbage Man cosplay and a new cabbage man in the Korra arc.

I want to see them bring another new character to the story.
Liiiiike the Turnip Man. We've seen cabbages, so we should totally
switch it up with the turnips.

Hmmmm...

"MY TURNIPS!"

...

Nope, just doesn't have the same feel as, "MY CABBAGES!" and turnips don't fly apart on impact like cabbages.

Cabbage man FTW

What about the Lettuce Man? :]

And he wouldn't get his lettuces destroyed, but instead be kinda...shifty and always find himself in trouble with guards or whatever and his catch phrase can be...

"Let us...leaf?"

haha!

I saw a link on the web earlier to a Korean animator's site where they posted a little blip that looked like it was Korra fighting.  I was super pumped!!

I'm excited for it, either way.  Mostly, I'm curious about all of the loose ends.  Who ended up with who (aside from Aang/Katara, which we all know is Canon now!!  *fistpump*) and where the other characters come from.

"Meelo" is supposedly the new comic relief/Sokka - some people are guessing he's Sokka's kid.  Who knows!

It's supposed to be "darker" and "more mature" than the last one which should be interesting :)

Too bad it's only going to be 12 episodes, not even a full season :(. But from what I understand they want it to be all story and no filler.
