Laying down the ground rules for this board
« on: May 16, 2006, 12:17:50 am »
Just so we don't violate our server TOS, there needs to be some limits as to what kind of content can be posted. As a basis, we will use some of the content rules of the Anime Artistry Contest. Specifically this passage:

Quote
... We will not accept reproductions or copies of art not originally done by the artist submitting the piece. No entries may be pornographic, overly violent or unfit for a family audience...

This section of the forum has attachments enabled for all registered users. All I ask is that you keep the file size reasonable for a web audience. A max dimension of 500 pixels at 72 ppi should do it. If you really want to post a higher resolution version, I ask that you link to it on your own webspace or image storage facility.

Lastly, please keep responses to threads about an image focused on critique of the image. People that post images here respect you enough to ask your opinion, please respect them with your honesty.

Other than all of that feel free to discuss not only your artwork, but technique also. Tutorials and tips are more than welcome. If there gets to be enough of them, I will set up a sub forum for the topic.

If I might suggest something... Honesty is all well and good, and I applaud it for being so, but perhaps critiques should also be kept constructive in addition to being honest?

As an artist myself (and as a result, I'll be posting a ton, no worries there) I hate people just saying they don't like my art for what it isn't. Though honest, it's not terribly helpful. I much prefer hearing suggestions on how my art could be improved from where it is.

Just a suggestion...
Every time you bring real world physics into a discussion about a fantasy thing...God kills a catgirl.

Please, think of the catgirls.
