Hello everyone. I recently received a message asking if I would be doing a lolita tea this year. I may be willing to do so again, but first I would like to see how many people are interested, and if any times are preferred. If not enough people are interested, I won't be setting up a meetup. Saturday morning would be most likely, but if anyone has a better idea, just leave a message. It would be rather similar to last years, with you bringing your own cup and me providing hot water and some basic teas, nothing formal and you wouldn't have to stay for the whole thing.

I'm interested... I was a volunteer at another con earlier this year, so I missed another Lolita Tea, so I'd definitely be willing to come.

I know a buddy of mine will be overjoyed to know there will be an event this year. She missed it back in 2007.

I would love to come! Maybe, instead of having everyone bring their own cup, would could have lots of foam cups (the ones usually used for coffee).
I am sure I could provide these foam cups. I'd just need to know how many people have signed up for it beforehand.

What time Sunday morning were you thinking?

I was thinking Saturday morning (not Sunday) sometime around 9-10, but if everyone prefers Sunday, I'll see if I can switch it around.

Thanks everyone for the replies! Time has not been finalized, but it will be Saturday morning before noon. It will be BYOC, but I will provide hot water and basic teas. If anyone wants to bring snacks, they are welcome to do so.

Elizabeth, maybe you could bring 4 or 5 foam cups for those who forget or don't have a cup to bring? If the group gets much bigger (it is about 8 people right now) we will update the information and size necessities.

Location will likely be the foyer of the hotel, near artist's alley.

Also, the Ouran Host Club is welcome to attend, through we will not be having a specific theme other then Lolita.

Just 2 weeks left!

Some finalized information. The tea is at 10 am in the lobby next to the artists alley. If anyone wants to bring snacks, I am expecting 10-12 guests at the tea. The tea will last an hour to an hour and a half, but you can leave (or arrive) any time you want.

I will be providing hot water and some tea, but you need to bring your own cup. See you then!

Hi all,

While a tea party sounds like a fabulous idea, I wonder if this should get approved by the staff first? (Unless it's already received a seal of approval, in which case, forgive my intrusion!)

The convention has a contract with the hotel, and oftentimes there are very strict stipulations about providing food and beverage. In previous years, I know that the convention has had to shut down events that were distributing food and beverage because it clearly states in their contract that only the -hotel- may provide such things. I'm sure the convention doesn't want a breach of contract (what a mess!), so like I said, I'd recommend getting a stamp of approval for this.
