Question, what size sprites(pixel height/width) do you tend to use for these?  I custom make sprites and would love to have some things made up for friends for the holidays.  Thank you!

I currently have the materials to do pieces up to 87x87 pixels, but getting the boards to do something larger is something I've been meaning to do. I base my pricing on how many boards a particular sprite requires. Boards are 29x29. Keep in mind, each pixel ends up being about 5mm square so things get really big really quick. Something like this Phoenix Wright sprite would end up being the size of a movie theater poster O_O

Something the size of your average Final Fantasy character ends up being about 3 inches tall

Another limitation you should be aware of is the limited color palette. The beads do limit me quite a bit with custom sprites. Not saying I can't do it, but it may not be as richly colored as your original sprite. If you want I could send you the palette that I use for most of my recolors.

I'm aware that 'small' things can end up huge, I have a friend that converts some of my pixeled items to cross stitch...huge is not even a good descriptor for some LOL.  If you wouldn't mind uploading your color pallet that would be helpful :) I'm not above 'recolouring' since things look a lot different when their size changes.

This is the palette that I primarily use. There's a few more colors available, but this was made a while back and works pretty well. There's one lighter shade of gray, a lighter shade of yellow, and a pale bright green for the other colors I have and or can get.

How much would this be to have made and rescaled into maybe the same size as a or slightly bigger than a FF sprite?

This is a custom edited image from Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040, the head was cut off and moved into the arm, and another head was cut off and pasted in. I highly doubt you will find another one unless this image was copied and put elsewhere.

Goodness, I just thought of something, I wonder how hard it would be to make a wearable hard suit like that. ^

edited to fix typos and link failure. :(

If you were going to change that to something close to the size of an FF sprite you'd lose all the detail, and I mean ALL of it. She'd be a green blob.

As for making a hardsuit...

Check out pepakura, I'm building Halo Spartan armor in this thread with that method and it's amazing when you don't screw up the sizing  ::)  You'd probably have to 3D model the armor yourself then run it through the designer program, but when it's done right you can make some AWESOME armor for pretty cheap.

Bugger :( So to make it not be a green blob how big would it need to be? I know it does have a lot of detail and it took me a while editing it to get it right and had to seek out same resolution picture to do what i wanted. But there it is.

As For the hardsuit/armor part, I'll look into it, but in order for me to really pull the hardsuit look off I'll have to lose maybe 50 to 75 pounds.  So It might be a while till I attempt to do it, But might try to do the helmet just to get the scaling right and all.

To keep a decent ammount of detail that pic would still end up being 2-3 ft tall, and something that size would run you approximately $250

I know you do silkscreening for clothing, but is it possible to do something like a canvas tote bag?  My friend crochtes/knits and brings her stuff with her alot. Well, the bag she has been using is wearing out and I thought it might be a nice Christmas gift to replace it. I know they have different size bags at Hobby Lobby and could supply one if needed. I was thinking of having her two favorite Disney Princesses, Ariel and Mulan, on it. You could do one on each side if it's easier.
I was thinking something like this for the Ariel one. ( it was the best pic I could find for this pose, at the moment)

And this for the Mulan (without the floliage in the background)

But with this coloring

If it's too much hassle I can find a different pic or attempt to photoshop it for you. I just know she's not realy crazy about the green dress.

If you can't do it, no big deal just thought I'd ask. I've been trying to find something she doesn't have or won't get between now and then and thought this ight be something to try.  :)
Don't diss the mouse! He may look like a pipsqueek but he does carry a keyblade and who knows, he may have Maleficent at his beck and call.

Unfortunately my setup currently limits me to one color on silkscreening and whatever I can airbrush on top of that, and my airbrush is too cheap to allow me to do really fine detail. If I were doing it on a solid piece of artboard it would be a different story, but fabric doesn't really like small pieces of masking stencil sticking to it.

Maybe once I have a better airbrush and some practice doing freehand I could do that, but not right now

Okay, life is officially insane atm, so I didn't get a chance to recolor these to your pallet, but I think they should be okay(relatively speaking).  Let me know if they're not colors you have or you need me to recolor them(I know the first one will probably have to be 'dumbed down' color wise a bit).  And if I may get a price quote on them?
I've linked them out so if either of the giftees should happen to stumble upon this they won't automatically see them.  First Second

Thanks!
