Hm. That's a good point. I'll bring it up with the board and the dealers room area heads. I'm sure there's a happy medium to be found there.

No, this would not be OK. We don't want people to get in the habit of frequently playing music. Plan on doing it once, and once only.
Okay, thanks for clarification. Oh, last question (rlly, rlly srry...). What if you haven't played ur music all day but some others have *that u didn't know about* and someone that's heard it numerous times that day goes and complains? What would occur then?

I think that playing "what if" over all these numerous possibilities isn't necessary. There might be different opinions on what is disruptive, but each situation still boils down to this: as was stated, don't disrupt other attendees' NDK fun. If a staff member decides that you have, the music goes off. If you have doubts about the possibility of you not disrupting others, I suggest playing it safe and leaving the music off.

Then, as allpowerfulbob said, just leave the music at home. That's the only way to be sure.

This is why I walk around with a headset, if someone wants to listen to the music, they just come up to the hotel room where my speakers are and we just sit down listen there....I don't like bothering people who might not like Repo, the Genetic Opera
Evolution has brought forth an astonishing number of living creatures....none get as much adoration as Felidae (Felidae pg 86)

I don't mean to bump an old thread but I hate to start a new one to ask one question. Hopefully someone with the right answer will respond to this quickly so it's not a disruption to the forum.

My band mates and I want to promote to the NDK crowd, seeing as how i've been going to NDK since I was 12, and I enjoy the energy NDK goers bring to shows. Would it be alright for us to bring in an acoustic guitar and acoustic bass and play a couple of songs here and there throughout the convention? It wont be a distraction and will only really be audible to those who stop to listen for a moment.

Plus, last year a friend of mine and I got a bunch of people singing along to All The Small Things during a time of day that was pretty much dead, and stuff like that is a lot of fun.

Please let me know,

-Rumor

Given that the crowd you'd attract while doing so would likely cause traffic problems, we'd prefer that you didn't do that inside. If you wanted to do it outside on the lawn or, say, on the patio behind The Lift, that shouldn't be a problem.

Alright cool, we'll do it at low traffic times in low traffic areas, thanks.

Just keep in mind that the same rules apply as with recorded audio and that it's up to the discretion of nearby staffers whether you're making too much noise or causing a disturbance.

Of course, if a staffer feels we're causing enough of a disturbance to warrant a cease and desist i'm not about to argue and neither are my associates. Your staff know what they're doing, we'll do as we're told.
