No matter how fast the first few episodes are, it gets better.
Watch it all.

I am very disappointed with the rearing of FMA: BH. Sadly, its nothing new and I feel betrayed when AS said it was going to bring a new anime to its program. This isn't anything new, its just like taking a birthday gift  and re-warping it in a different colored paper. Its the same thing at its core.

Actually, no.
It's a lot different. You just have to be patient and wait. It gets really good.

I for one think this FMA is better than the original. Because, it actually told more of Ed and Al's backstory in Ep.2 which was more saddening than how the first FMA told it.

brotherhood needs to take a lesson from the original. most people preferred the old one.

I heard that they made Brotherhood because people didn't like the way the original ended. After watching Conqueror of Shamballa I was completely happy with the way the series ended.

Then again I don't NEED for everything to end all super happy happy, just a definitive conclusion to the story. (I hate filler episodes that drag out different series)

Now mind you I haven't seen brotherhood yet

FMA was re-done i had thought to actually have story congruency with the manga completely or at least as complete as possible. Instead of the divergence that happened in the first FMA. It starts really showing i think after the first season(26eps)

I like Brotherhood a little bit, only because it's taking parts from the manga. But otherwise, I prefer the original. I don't like the idea of...wait...I won't say that. Would be spoiling stuff. XD

Well at least the glomping bit. That could be taken wrong.

Back on topic, I finally watched an episode of brotherhood...

Not impressed, but again I never saw the need to retell the story in the first place.

Kinda reminds me of all the different Tenchi series. The original was amazing and hilarious all at the same time, then there was Universe and it was a little darker and not as well thought out IMO. Then they came out with in Tokyo and it was like, "hey let's just throw all continuity right out the window!"

I vastly prefer Brotherhood to the original version, personally.

I'm a fan of the series (was Kimblee for NDK09, want to make a Brotherhood version for '10 or '11), and I watched the entirety of the original anime. Then someone showed me an online chapter from the manga, and I was instantly hooked. I read every chapter that had been released in America online, and I can't say the original impresses me anymore.

To be honest, the "original anime" barely has anything to do with the Fullmetal Alchemist series. The characters and the plot are watered down and deviate so far from the original, it loses a lot of the intensity that the real series was supposed to convey. Brotherhood, on the other hand, has thus far followed the manga down to the dialogue. The characters are more unique and developed. To be honest, the first anime series is just a disappointment to me now.

Plus, it's longer. Who can argue with more FMA episodes? x3
