I've been invited to participate in CAMCON, "Comic Book, Anime, Manga Convention of Northern Colorado." They offered rates for vendor tables and a location where the convention would be.

I don't know who these people are or how the heck they got my e-mail, or why they contacted me. I don't know how they know I've sold stuff at NDK. I'm a little freaked out and kind of pissed, and I don't know where else to ask this. My boss won't have a clue, as she doesn't remember my e-mail address and therefore can't give it out to people.

If this isn't the right place to ask, please tell me where I CAN ask. I'd like to be armed with some information before I tell my boss about this or tell them to bugger off.

Thank you for your time.

You have an email address displayed in your profile;

and in a post you made here

http://ndkdenver.org/forum/index.php/topic,3775.msg130086.html#msg130086

You mentioned you had an artist ally table, anybody could have read that post;

and anybody with an account on the forum can look at your profile.

We don't share our artists' information with other conventions (or anyone else, for that matter), so they didn't get your e-mail address from us. But as Osias mentioned, your e-mail address is publicly available on our forum, so if someone was trying to scour our forum to pull information about artists to contact, they wouldn't have had too much trouble finding your e-mail address.

If you're concerned about people getting your e-mail address, you should check the "Hide email address from public?" checkbox in your profile.

Since this thread was about being contacted by CAMCON because of posting on the NDK forum, I'm going to lock this thread. If you want to discuss the actual convention, please create a new thread in the Meetups and Events section.
