What is it?: A quick (30 min) class with plenty of time afterwords to practice how to get good pictures from small digicam type cameras. Anyone looking at taking pictures at a con (or in general really) and cosplayers who'd love to strut their stuff for the trainee paparazzi are welcome!
Day: Wednesday Feb 24th
Location: Greenwood Village Community Room in the City Hall. 6060 South Quebec Street, Greenwood Village, Colorado 80111-4591
Time: 6:00 PM going to 9:00 PM (though you should be able to leave any time after 6:30; the rest is practice time.)

So every year I go around taking pictures of everyone I see, trying to get all of the costumes on film. I never succeed (there's just too many of you guys! XD ) so I'm always excited to go and see all of the pictures everyone has so I can see all the costumes I've missed.
A lot of the pictures are really awesome but similarly there's a lot where they were blurry, too dark, too light, etc. The problem is that the con represents one of the hardest photography environments I think I've ever seen. As a result I've run into these same problems with my pictures in the past and have spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to make them come out good.
You'd be amazed how little it helps to have a fancy camera in terms of keeping it from being over bright/dark! I've done it with a 30 dollar camera, a $250 Powershot A520, a $140 Powershot A590, and my 'spensive Canon XTi and all of them did pretty much the same in fully automatic mode.
So I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a class/photoshoot focusing on the basics of small digicam photography (though big fancy cameras are welcome too.) The meetup would be run probably sometime around the second to last or last week of February and would likely be held someplace public and indoors but where photography isn't going to get us into trouble (I'm considering using the community room here in Greenwood Village but I'd rather find a place with less restrictions and/or more central to Denver.)
If I did this would anyone be interested? This includes people interested in modeling for us to help practice. (It's no fun to take learn something if you can't try it out!)
