Masquerade Help
« on: December 24, 2009, 01:21:46 pm »
Okay, I believe it is the Masquerade where you can go up and perform skits. If not, please tell me because I really should know these things.

Anyways, me and my friend are planning on doing a skit for the masquerade, but it would be our first time and we have no idea how you would sign up. Do you have to pre-register? Do you register the day before at the con? All help is appreciated :)

You're thinking of the cosplay contest. For the contest you must be pre-registered for the convention. Then you will need to wait until August (I believe) for the cosplay contest registration to open up. Be sure that you have your music ready and an outline of your skit to be submitted.

If I'm missing anything, I'm sure Katie will correct any errors. :D

Okay so I need pre-register :p Now, me and my friend are planning on kinda a comedy skit, with no music to it. But I have seen skits on youtube where they have a recording for the lines. Do we need to have that recorded and submitted by August?

If I remember correctly it only needs to be a script, but I could be wrong. I would recommend sending a PM to Katie, she is the head of the cosplay contest and she can tell you more about it.

Here is your best friend for costume contest questions: http://ndkdenver.org/activities/cosplay/contest-rules

After you've read it you can direct you questions at me.

Some answers to your questions.
Any audio you want played with the skit (be it music or dialog) needs to be submited with your entry online in August, we don't accept audio onsite.
Skits have to sign up online. I would suggest signing up as soon as signup starts in August, dates to be announced spots go fast.
The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person doing it.
