naruto destroyed naruto, disney is just turning the knife  ::)

enough said really.  I personally am happy that more channels besides CN are picking up anime.  It means the genre is truly growing.

well before i say my actual point i want to say that i dont think any of us were worried of the culture growing, but the fact that a channel that has a bad rep for usually a good reason, got their hands on it.  That being said, a lot of my fears have been proven to be false.  Disney made a smart move this time unlike what they usually do... i watched it the other night with a friend of mine that has seen the original shippuden before disney got it, and nothing was totally changed.  well other than the crappy title page voices... but i think i can let them go with that...  its not like i expected much, and im just happy that they didnt completely ruin it.  And i would say that my references i was using before it came on air would need to be updated...

Yea they might have put it on toonami if it was still around. Man i miss Toonami. OLD TOONAMI with Tom and Cera and their ship and stuff.

You want to talk old school Toonami? Moltar brought us Robotech, DBZ, Salor Moon, and other choice anime of the era. Tom and Cera were awesome hosts, but Moltar was the fire man that started it all. I loved his quips and attitude!

ALL HAIL BRAK....um, I mean MOLTAR!

But why I here orignally. Sadly, Naruto has gone the way of the quickest buck possible, with it's attitude, action, and charm tuned down so it's........JUST FOR KIDS! *shock*

Seriously.....green blood? What, are ninjas filled with lime jello? If CN mucked up the original series so much, I would not be suprised if we end up seeing mouse ears forced apon our leaf village ninjas.

Wellcome to the Village Hidden in Shame. The mouse owns you.

I don't even care anymore :P. I just kind of done with naruto. The fact that it's on Disney makes me wanna start watching it again even less.
If you don't know what to make your signature, make this your signature. People might get mad when they read it though. I mean, all you're really doing is blathering on about nothing and taking up time that they could be using doing something productive like posting.

I'm so far not that upset with it, but I think I definitely will be when they farther in the series (gory! :D Especially Hidan xD) But I think that Disney will probably drop it by this time. I'm giving them 50 episodes at the most, then dropping it from their channel, either from them not being able to go along with the storyline because of how gory it is (little kids would freak xD) or because of all of us just not watching it :p

Okay, ive done....a bit of research on this since it was announced way back when that CN lost the rights to Naruto, which was then picked up by disney..

1) I love the original disney stuff and it has its place since im probably older than most of you and grew up in the early 90s when disney was at its peak and alot of the classic disney movies were created and the older once were being re released ect. I grew up near orlando and have clocked in over 260 days in the disney parks

setting this aside I examined the situation, did some research and this is what I have found

1) Disney is not in charge of the editing..that is still funimation...therefore disney is airing the same edited version CN would have
2) Disney..was behind the movie sin city...theyre not just geared towards little kids
3) Disney will not over market Naruto...thats already been done to the point that naruto is the the poster child/ anime for the world of "anime freaks" the people that insist they are to be called sakura and wear headbands in highschool with their little clans is what the outside world sees, so as I said the damage (irreversible) has already been done, thats why I haven't watched past ep 136
4) with all this said..the fact that more kids maybe able to see the show is the only thing keeping it alive in the US

other random facts that shows the over-marketing of naruto was that he was on the cover of my martial arts magazines (all 5 different ones) at somepoint around 07 and not to mention the number of whitebelts that tried to wear their headbands to class was preposterous, ATA alone wrote an article about their spike in TEMPORARY memberships when naruto peaked - I say temporary because most of them quit after a month-few months cuz they couldnt take the training and discipline...

now that we have all the facts laid out.. please rethink your argument and try to validate it a bit please

well, It was still at first kinda a thought that sent shivers down your spine, but if funimation still has creation rights to it, than i guess that its okay.  And i did manage to watch a few episodes a few weeks back, so The day after I took back my arguments... However, I still dont trust diseny with a lot of things.. And they are still marketing it, which is still not cool even if it is happening every where else.  If most normies are going to make fun of anime, I dont think that they should be using it to make profits and then be all like "oh ya, anime is cool" and still know nothing about it or the cultures behind it.
