NDK Forum members get-togethers Fall/Winter 2009

And so starts another round for the meet up thread, I'm going to stick with a twice a month meet up but if people would like more I will add more meet ups as well as the ones already planned. Please note that not all meet ups are costume and some will cost more than others.

Also a note about the meetings, I know people run late *myself included* or they show up early and rarely on time. ^_^ From now on if anyone finds themselves waiting for more than an hour from the time the meeting is supposed to start it can be said that the meeting is not going to happen. If you have cell numbers of any of the people that where supposed to attend, call them to find out what's going on, if you need someones number ask through pm and not on the forum please.

A note about this thread, just to make things clear I usually ask for a head count the evening after the current meeting for the next meeting, for large meeting I will sometimes ask up to two weeks in advance. You can either confirm here or pm me and I will add you to the list for that meeting, if I ask any further in advance meetings tend to get overlooked and the thread will get off topic. If you have a separate event your planning and wish to have it added to the page just ask and I will add it. If you have an idea for a future event that would fit in here feel free to post your idea, just keep in mind that the weekend events alternate between Saturday and Sunday as well as location so that everyone has a better chance of making a meeting.

Meetings now through the New Year.

Dec 31: Thursday: NDK 2009 New Years Eve Costume Ball.

If anyone would like a meeting at a different place please say so.

For mall meetings we usually meet in the food court. Mill = Panda Express, Flatirons = near outside doors, SW Plaza = Subway, Aurora mall = near outside doors.

If you'd like to cosplay you're welcome to but it's not required. I also suggest that if you have weapons that go with your costume you leave them at home. I wouldn't want anyone to get in trouble with the people at the mall for indecent exposure or for prop weapons. Normal people can only take so much we don't want to get banned from the malls and other meeting sites for giving them a scare.

Autumn Costume photoshoot: This will be a photoshoot and picnic provided the weather is nice. The whole point is to take costume pictures in the fall colors. I have it narrowed down to three locations, I’ll let you guys decide.

I really like the look of Eldorado, the only thing that worries me is getting money for the park pass and how that works. Maybe we should meet up somewhere so we can take as few cars as possible. Anybody know how this works?

I can probably make the Nov. 8 bowling as well as the Olive Garden dinner on the 26th.  And I'd say I'm 75% for Tony's birthday.

Because of the cold front that hit today and the fact that its snowing at my house with a couple inches already on the ground I propose we move the cosplay photoshoot to the 3rd just to make sure we get color and use the 10th as a fall back in case of bad weather. If we want to go for color and not just aspens we can use the Matthew-Winters open space park where a lot of the picnics have been, its free parking and that bridge has a lot of trees with leaves around it, there is also bathrooms to change in if needed.

Just to let everyone know, I removed several of the meet ups that I had put up because things have come up and I can't deal with them. Feel free to plan your own here or in another thread, I'll post them up on the list.

As for the photoshoot we can keep it on the 10th since more people can probably make it then and it wouldn't be fun without Katie to cosplay as well. ^_^

Pip I know they're still planning, I just chose the middle day of the official weekend.

Also if someone would like to take over the xmas/new years party fee free to, I probably wont be able to make that one either but I left it up anyways.

I am as in for the photoshoot as is possible for someone who wouldn't even be able to get rolling until 2:00 PM. I've got a dentist's appointment that I shouldn't say will be done till then down in thornton. But that said, if you guys were looking to use the evening sun to accent the colors then I'll be there. But for Eldorado canyon I'm looking at getting there between 3 and 4 PM. Once you guys get a time set we'll see where things land time wise.

Saturday the 17th - 11am at the gate for tickets at $20, Those who come later will have to pay the normal daily admission price of $35

Well Darkshard, one way or another we need to know if this thing's moving days or if not what time/place you want to meet at. There's only a few hundred acres to get lost on at either of the two parks unless you know where you're going.
