Theshadow i love that your actually listening to us and giving us good feed back instead of just telling us were harassing the staff, cause that is not at all what we are trying to do...it just sucks when ppl come so far and spend soo much money to be with cosplay friends...and then we just get yelled at like misbehaving children...which dont get me wrong there are alot of ppl there that need to be yelled at for the stuff they do...but alot of the time i saw soo many ppl be yelled for wrong reasons.

but  its great to get good feedback from a staff non the less...instead of just being told to go to a different con...i dont want that at all...i love ndk, iv made some amazing friends there, some of which are staff or volunteers...it just stops being fun when im getting yelled at for stopping in a spot to pick something up...or being yelled at for running, when i was speed walking to the bathrooms cause i felt vary vary sick...non the less...i will still be back at ndk ^^

As a whole, it did seem like the staff (or maybe they were merely volunteers) were edgier.

I feel they didn't approach some as well as they should have with, from my perspective, obvious situations:  My friends and I were chatting to a Staff/Volunteer member on the very outskirts of the game room, he had an empty cup, upside-down, he drank from the outside but got caught up in conversation, and 2nd Staff/Volunteer member comes breaking into the conversation to tell him "No drinks in the game room."  The original Staff/Volunteer member didn't seemed too pleased, as it probably was a slap in his face as if he weren't doing his job or paying attention.  Still, it was good that the 2nd one noticed, regardless.

Some felt unorganized:  Being told to move somewhere, then being scolded for standing there about 20 minute later for being in front of, what we were now informed of, a fire exit.  I can think of a good Mitch Hedberg joke here :).

And overall, almost none of the members felt very approachable:  A new con-goer asking about the "Not bringing your own controller" rule in the Video Game room got him an earful of "This is what he have!  You HAVE to use it!  If I see that stick again, it's mine!" and took a while to get to the point of the Colorado Liability Law(s).

Overall, if I had a suggestion, problem, question, or anything, I started keeping to myself because I didn't wanna bother with the staff/volunteers.  Still, I wanna give out props to, and I apologize because I didn't learn your name, the head-shaven arcade machine knowledge'd go-to guy in the game room.  He was really chill, easy to talk to, fun, and took the time to listen to what we had to say and just was in a much more chipper mood in contrast to the rest of the working kind.  If anyone can tell him "Nice Work" for me, let it be done!

But it does sound like a key problem to some of the things is space, space, space.  Room is running thin, and actions are becoming much more forward as the result.   It would suck to cap, but it might be an answer until a larger venue.  Despite, not all problems are based around that single reason, but here's to hoping for next year.  Still, keep us updated theshadow.  I feel like since I don't know AT ALL what is going on behind the scenes, I don't know where I should complain, or why certain things are what they are.  Your post provides some good insight.

And as far as Fanaddican goes.  He's not promoting anything to the conversation.  He cannot provide us answers, he can only provide us provocation.  I rather just have either straight up answers, or what they have in the planner direct from the staff man, theshadow, himself.  Responding to him doesn't help much at all and I say responses to him, and due to him, should be put on hold.

I would like to apologize if I don't respond to everyone. Seeing as most of our moderators aren't around just yet I'm moving as fast as I can :P

"Facist" and "Police State" didn't start with 'N'.

Lets be clear about something. There is nothing funny or cute pertaining to the word Nazi.
I condemn the use of that word to create this thread, I think it was a poor and immature choice.

That being said I will remind everyone of something: The people who devote thier time to the con are working for FREE.

I don't condone what some staffers do or say. I was spoken to rather rudely a couple of times during the con, but I understand the stress and trials they are put through. If it wasn't for some bad eggs lousing up the con for all of us then we wouldn't have as many rules and limitations. When dealing with the general public, you have to be strict and uncompromising. End of Story.

Hmm. Well, I'm not sure what to think about this topic, because personally, I only had good experiences with the NDK staff. On Friday night, my friend was complaining to me that the hotel hadn't given her the room she'd asked for, despite reserving it way in advance and arriving very early in the morning to claim it. A staffer overheard her, and while he couldn't do anything about the room, he tried to help her out to the best of his abilities to make sure her stay was still enjoyable. Kudos to you, sir. She really appreciated the fact that you listened.

I wanna respond to a lot of these suggestions/complaints but I was doing the Rock Band Tryouts for most of the Kon and really wasnt in the halls very much.   I will say that we, as staffers, were told many times to hold back on the emotions and not to yell in anger.   I want to say that the yelling that was going on was because, as shadow said, people were not/could not listen.   I want to say, but seeing as i stated before, I did not participate in that part of the Kon.

I really wanted to post to let you, the Kon going public, know that the staffers and the Directors take these comments very seriously and will have action being taken.

I UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING!

As much of this has been addressed in the other thread and the possibility of upsetting others I am going to lock this thread. If you have further comments on Staff Behavior please post here.
