I am a professional student.  I subsist off of grants and scholarships in order to further my potential usefulness to the society which now supports me.  Whether I will live up to that potential or not is a wholly different story.

I do work at the school library, though calling it work is a bit of a misnomer.  I goof-off about twice as much as I actually work, since there is almost no work to do.  I have to sit at a desk and wait for someone to show up who needs help with something or another, which is about fifteen times an hour on a super-busy day.  So I idle away the time by:

Making a rubber-band ball with the library's exorbitant number of rubber bands
Coloring
Hiding stuff in my boss' office
Bouncing my rubber-band ball
Reading the internet
Creating library cards for fictitious people (Gandalf, Bruce Banner, Mighty Thor, Bert & Ernie, etc...)
Throwing my rubber-band ball into the air and catching it a lot.
Origami
(very very rarely)Doing my homework.
Rolling my rubber-band ball down my arms (I can almost get it across my shoulder blades!)

I love my job.

Sweet, did you like the hazards team? I work at the Core Research Center, one of the labs that was transfered to Reston control last year bu still remains in Lakewood. A lot of the different teams come in to look at cores we have.

The Hazards Team was pretty good, at the time I was working in the IT department, not really knowing a whole lot about what I was doing. It feels good to have a job thats very interesting and has to do with geology.

Depending on whats going on over here I may be spending some time over in that warehouse, possibily continuing the efforts to organize whats left of the old palentology branch, just got a small tour last friday. Not to mention I may want to take a look at some of the Green River cores you have over there, thesis stuff and all.

I worked for a year or so as a projectionist @ a 9 screen theatre. Lame yes, but all the free popcorn I could eat.
Well, ya see, I'm not saying that I've been everywhere and I've done everything, but I do know it's a pretty amazing planet we live on here, and a man would have to be some kind of FOOL to think we're alone in THIS universe.

Dude really?  I work at Red Lobster all the only free thing we get is drinks.  Not the alcoholic kind.  XD  But our meals are only half off if we worked a shift that day.  If not their only 25% off.  >.<  We don't even get free biscuits.  But people are pretty good at stealing the, cause really...each of those biscuits costs about 2 cents...

I remember bringing huge sacks of popcorn to gaming sessions. We got free soda also.
