And it's actually highly recommended that you wear comfortable shoes to the masquerade. Big boots, cosplay platforms, high heels, etc. . .will cause aches, pains, and breaks if danced in for too long

Are you allowed to take your shoes off and put them in the corner like everyone did at high school prom? also are we allowed to bring our own glowsticks and all?

Please keep your shoes on during the dance.  

1) It's hotel-policy as well as a con rule.

2) I remember one previous year we found small bits of glass in the carpet from some glasses broken at a previous banquet.  We did a FOD walk of the floor, and still found more.

We wouldn't want you to get hurt, either.
