Thanks to a Funimation survey (Thanks Masura Tsukino) there is a possibility that Sailor Moon may be coming back to American shores for the 1st time in over a decade Redubbed and possibly (and hopefully) uncut.

Who does everyone think should play in the new PSSM Dub?

In my guess in order for this to work, (Give your opinions too) Funi has to avoid Cartoon Network and other Kiddie networks like the plague and keep it for the fans otherwise, you'll probably see something exactly like the same way DIC butchered the series and make it a "Girls only" show. Sure its Shoujo, but sailor moon is an anime that generations of otaku still love and it should remain as it is and redub it.

What's everyone's opinion on this and how can Funimation make this work?

I'm not convinced there's harm in family-friendly releases as long as an uncut version is still available. Sailor Moon, Tenchi and Cardcaptor Sakura all fared just fine in their original versions even with the edited versions that aired on TV. Tokyo Mew Mew, on the other hand... well, I'd like to believe that 4Kids' number one mistake there was the lack of an uncut version, but realistically I'm just not sure it had the mainstream appeal they were shooting for.

It looks like it's just a list of stuff they're exploring the possibility of licensing. I doubt they have any of it spoken for yet, but the responses will probably inform their acquisitions process over the next few months. To which end I'm happy to see Shangri-La on that list.

If that is entirely possible, well, I think I might put up some money for it. I need to trash the old dub anyway, the VHS tapes finally had to be canned...

Now if only Unico could be redubbed and re-released in the US, I am tired of having really bad copies of that too.

Yep, Sailor Stars is THE best of the series next to S. Who does everyone think should be casted for the dub? I think Monica Rial could be a good Ami/Sailor Mercury, Hillary Haag could be Chibi-Usa or use the previous lady who did her. The actress who does Sakura in Naruto can be an excellent Rei/Sailor Mars and Luci Christian; Can be Minako/Sailor Venus. Usagi/Sailor Moon could be tough to cast possibly and as for Mamoru/Tuxedo mask, I got alot of choices for him such as Vic Mignogna or Greg ayres.

I don't want it DUBBED! I think it should just stay in Japanese and distribute it that way. Redubbing it will only make things worse. Considering that Sailor Moon's first translation was so horrible the first time around and it would be easier to just do what ADV did when they had the rights to Sailor Moon, release it in the uncut version, but also keep the original Japanese as is. NO Changes should be allowed, no censoring and no usage of the names from the old dubbing....let's just forget these American names ever existed, please....

Well, I like Nemisis' picks, Vic MIGHT be good for tuxy, but I'd like to see the voice actor that did him for R/The movies back. *swoon* He was GOOD.

I would love to have Tiffany Grant as Usagi, she wouldn't make her seem like such a klutz, you know Usagi doesn't klutz out or sound like a total idiot.

I wouldn't mind if Crispin Freeman was the voice of Safir or if he did the voice of one of the villains from through out the series. He would make an awesome Kunzite (Malacite)

I agree. Crispin Freeman doing one of the dark kingdom generals would be bad ass...just as long as funi doesn't mess up their real names like Nephrite being Nephlite on the dic dub. I don't mind it redubbed as long as funimation doesn't get greedy and give it to Cartoon network, Nick or dare I say it Disney and avoid the american names and keep it to the original source material i.e. uncut and not butchered. How 'bout voices for the outer senshi? (Sailor Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto)

haruka's voice has to be rather masculine sounding, I happen to be a classic Sailor Uranus fan girl, so I am going to say, no too fem. And a final note, Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune are together as a couple! I'm tired of the cousins idea.

I think FUNimation would completely throw out all older information on the series, so I dont think we have to worry about the names, that and if Toei has anything to say about it, I dont think they will change it, they will probably give it One Piece treatment, where everything goes through Toei

I honestly was thinking about this, I think that Colleen Clinkenbeard would make a good saturn/pluto, and Laura Bailey wouldnt be too bad as Usagi, I think she could do those spazz moments really well like in Kodocha, and then she can be more down to earth like Fruits Basket. I honestly cant think about any others though. Hmmmm...we shall see if it does get licensed.

Thank goodness, I'm sorry, but the old names HAVE to go! No offense to Rini or anyone else who likes the OLD series, but the dubbing was terrible, DiC destroyed the series and I think it is overdue for a revamp.

Gahh! The return of Sailor Moon would be amazing! And if wasn't butchered that would be awesome too, I hate it when the kiddie stations get a hold of stuff that shouldn't be touched. A friend also told me that there's a rumor about funimation remaking Yu-Gi-Oh! That would make me most happy buuuut.... anyway, I definitely believe that funi could make it work, they've done great work on other animes.... So here's hoping *crosses fingers*

Rumor, I don't FIND THAT FUNNY! I'm sorry, but Shatner can't act to save his life, and Danny Divito is the same in all his movies. Try someone else.
