I Handed out "Soul Chains" in 2007, anyone still got them or see them?

I was dressed as a member of Squad 4 and handed out some homemade "Soul Chains" the things that any Plus should have on them in the Bleach Universe.  I made them in 2007 and I handed them out to a few people, i think they were soul reapers, I think one had a shiny blad head.....   

I didn't go to NDK last year (bad me). 

 I made the soul chains out of plastic chain, cardboard, hot glue and little tiny mini-magnets, then I painted them silver.  They are two pieces, one you put behind your shirt and the other goes (via magnets) on top of your clothing.   

I hope to go to NDK this year and am thinking of making more of these wonderful little marvels to hand out to people who comment on my costume or have a costume I think looks cool.   I want to see if you have seen them or if you OWN one that I gave away!   I am curious to find out if this is a cool thing or a not so cool thing.

Depending on the result I will either go to Home Depot and buy out their stock of plastic chain or I will stay home and burn all of my anime stuff.

And if you own one of them or have pictures please send me an E-mail or message or post the pics!   YAY!!!!!!

Thats really cute idea. :) Instead of magnets, why not use pin backs? Good job on those! Isn't that PVC chain the best?

Magnets are nice because then they don't go through clothing and less chance to damage clothing.

I am probably only going to hand them out to people who are in Bleach costumes, or Death Note......  Or something like that....

I might dress up as the lowest member of squad 4, maybe make myself a some giant packages and boxes to carry around, or my squad 4 knapsack will have a duster and a toilet plunger hanging out of it.   Someone needs to represent the main people of squad 4 you know.

Not that I'm cosplaying as a Bleach or a Death Note character.. but a generic ninja would like one if you have spares ;)

Wow, there is some demand for them!!!!

Well I am busy producing them right now and my basement looks like some sorta scene out of Captain Kurotsuchi's Lab.  There are bits of chain and bits of paper and hot glue EVERYWHERE!!!

I have completed about 20 of them so far and have ironed out the details of mass production, I will try to make about bazillion or so of them, though I will only be handing out a certain number of them for free.

There are three types of chain so far, there is the Ichigo type:   , the "Deluxe" Plus type that looks like a Plus from the show: and then the "Standard Plus Type": .   Note, the Deluxe type has extra magnetic thingies on the outside edge, or "Floating rivets" as I call them...

I may build some "Five Point" Plus types , and if time permitting I may build an "Orihime" Type: 


I am going to post pics as soon as I have them, I need to find the motivation to take a pic of them, but I am pleased with the result so far.   I am very excited about this and only hope that when I get done I will be able to clean out my basement because the pile of Reishi debris under my work table is going to start to form a consciousness if I am not careful ;)

I have the somewhat earnest personal goal of making 100 of these things, time will only tell if my hands will be able to withstand the hot glue or not....

I captain of the sixth squad Here by order you the lowest member of squad 4 to cease and decided the making of illegal Soul Soul Chains. Also to hand over all the ones you have made to be destroyed due to the Roswell incident where shinigami's were unable to do their job because of everyone having a "Soul Chain"

Well you are going to have to talk to Captain Unohana about any disciplinary actions involving any member of Squad 4.   Lest you take any action that will incur her wrath.  LOL.

I should be dressed up as a member of Squad 4, I will have soul chains hooked into my green squad 4 sash.   Ask and if I have any left you may receive.   Feel free to wear them while in regular civilian clothing as shimigami's need to fill their quota for konso for NDK.


Update: Just learned how to make a decent Pentagon with a compass so the five point soul chains look like they may be a possibility!

I think it would be funny for all of the other soul reapers attending to bring candy and give it to whomever has the misfortune as going as the Squad 10 captain, but that would be a funny bridge too far.

Oh someone mentioned swords in another forum and I may make my own "Zanpakto" I am going to have to figure out how to make a "Soul Chain" themed Zanpakto, have some ideas, but nothing good so far.   I am going as my own original character from squad 4, though I could go as a squad 4 lieutenant from the "Turn back the pendulum arc"  as I have a squad 4 arm band, but I don't remember if they showed WHO was the lieutenant in that arc...Hopefully they never showed who was so I can carve out my character there.

I am thinking of floating the idea past a few friends of mine who don't have costumes to wear a soul chain and if someone asks nicely to perform a "konso" ritual on them they would hand over a free soul chain or other award.   But I am not sure if they would do it.
