Personally, I don't really like the idea of an American live action Death Note movie... I heard Zac Effron is going to be Raito, but thats just what I heard. They look really similar, but still. I don't know if it will turn out very well.. Thats just me.

I dunno what actors I would chose as the cast if I could chose .___.'

I do agree with you there - I thought they did a kick donkey bum job on the Japanese but... *sighs* big corporations ya know? Anything to make a buck.

That's not a very fair assessment.  The same could be said about the mangaka, the production company, the voice actors, the animators, translators and people who sell anime.

That is true - I guess I'm just in a pessimistic mood today. I mean, I totally understand and support turning great manga or concepts into anime and in turn dubbing said anime and manga for other countries to enjoy. I also do believe that every one along the way should be paid for their efforts - I'm mostly just very annoyed with all the remakes lately.

Yeah, it seems as though creativity is a fleeting commodity.

Don't I know. A 90210 remake/spin off? Really?

I'm sorry to say that a script being in the works by no means implies that anything will come to fruition. A script may be optioned; have a lead actor, director, and producer attached; and have millions of dollars of funding secured... and yet still never be made. Until a movie gets that greenlight, there's just no certainty.

So true. Just look at the EVA movie that was supposed to go down and still hasn't.Makes me wonder how Dragonball got done before neon genesis? what is this world coming to?

OKay, becuase this seems fun, I am going to put up my fair  amount of who I would cast people as!
Alexander Ludwig as Near

Jamie Campbell Bower As Mello

Jayne Wisener As Misa-misa, becuase she looks the part, and i think she coudl pull off the creepy part.

Rose McGowan as Tanka, because I think she needs to at least appear a little bit more older than the main cast.

Pete Wentz as L, now I know that he is a musician, but that hasn't stopped anyone before. I seriously could see pete pulling it off, and having fun with it.

Tom Felton as Light, becuase it jsut fits.

Rodrigo Santoro as Mikami
And that is that!

Thank you! :D I really think Jayne could to! When I saw her in Sweeney Todd, I thought "Wow! She is awesome! Who is this girl?" And Sweeney Todd was her first movie! Anyways! Thank you!

hmmm im not really sure who should play any of the Death Note characters. for me i personally don't want an American version just cuz it could be totally ruined if the wrong people played the wrong character. if zac efron or ashley tisdale where hired for this there would be too many fan girls there just cuz they want them to sing or something.

for me im against the whole American live-action Death Note movie

If you don't know what to make your signature, make this your signature. People might get mad when they read it though. I mean, all you're really doing is blathering on about nothing and taking up time that they could be using doing something productive like posting.

Seeing as this film is still classified as in production, there are no acting credits listed, and I think all of the discussion has worn itself out I'm going to lock this thread.
