Because there'll be so much traffic and general convention happenings occurring, most non-participants won't probably take notice of us gathering near the Starbucks. And it won't be that big of a deal even if people are eavesdropping.

I know some of the freeze participants have busy schedules and won't want to be hanging around for an hour to participate in an event that will last only 2 minutes. Besides, the Saiyuki meeting will be gathering around Starbucks around 9:00 AM-ish; even though their ultimate meeting place is to be announced, they very well may decide to keep it at Starbucks. Therefore, to be respectful of their event, we should gather at 10:00 AM.

Keep in mind that it gets pretty loud around that area. It would be difficult to provide instructions to a group of people without yelling them out.

That is another good point.
We can keep the meeting point at 10am, but I think that Starbucks isn't the ideal place to meet. And if there is a large group of us, then it would make from some pretty bad crowding if we all met up there anyway. We don't want to be shouting, and we don't want to crowd up the halls too much.

Ok I'm supper excited about this, you can count me and my group of 4 in!

I've already set alarms to remind me of the meetings. Sorry I'm such a late comer but I am a huge fan of this idea! for my senior prank I wanted everyone to randomly break into the thriller dance in the hall ways, i even had the in to highjack the PA system.. but no one would commit. I'm supper happy that people are committing!

my oppinion on the meeting the day of: we meet at 9:30 or 10 to give final instructions. Now the very worst thing people could do is go to a spot they picked minutes before the freeze and practice whatever pose their going to do. Bad idea, after the final instructions everyone should go their own way and just wander.

having more time between the final meeting and the actual freeze would be more inconspicuous, so my vote is to have the meeting 30 min - an hour before the feeze, and we don't stand around in a big group until the time to take our places. We want it to be more random yes?

any votes on this idea?

One thing i think i might want to make aware at this point is that i will be going to a photoshoot at 11:00am on saturday... Were going to be meeting up at star bucks, but still i just didnt want to hold my tounge now and pay for it later. i really want to be part of both... and put my name down for the photo shoot alreay... im not trying to be all rude or anything, just trying to figure out a scheduel that i can jot down.

Except the entire convention is filled with large groups of people cluttered together. So unless we talk really loud, I doubt anyone will notice.

Here are the finalized plans for the freeze.

FRIDAY:

1. There will be an initial meeting on Friday in front of the lobby Starbucks for any participants present at 9:00 PM. The meeting can be in the afternoon or evening. The meeting will be MANDATORY if you want to try out for an Indicator position. Actually, depending on how many people will be in the freeze, there will probably more Indicator positions available.

To qualify as an Indicator, a participant must:
- Have a cell phone;
- Know how to set dual alarms on their cell phone;
- Be able to de-activate their buzzing cell alram without looking.

SATURDAY:

2. Around 10:00 AM participants should meet in front of the lobby Starbucks (Indicators and regular attendees) for final preparations. Because some people have to stick to schedules regarding other events they wish to attend, we cannot wait for latecomers to show. At 10:28 AM all attendees will disperse into the ATRIUM area. They shouldn't crowd the artist alley tables, and they should leave enough room around them for non-participants to pass by easily.

3. The freeze will take place between 10:30 AM and 10:32 AM. To indicate the start and stop of the freeze, the predetermined Indicators will set their cell phone alarms for 10:30 AM and 10:32 AM respectively. Because many cell phone times set automatically, synching alarms should have accurate results. Regular attendees will know who the Indicators are from the meeting beforehand at Starbucks.

4. When the Indicators' second alarms go off at 10:32 AM, they will resume moving. The other attendees will see this and also unfreeze.
