It was a fantastic experience. Given the rehearsal times for an event like this, I thought the orchestra and choir did a wonderful job. The three opera singers were much better than I would have expected. The singer who sang Draco's part had a big, goofy grin on his face seeing how much people were enjoying themselves, which was really cool.
Terra's Theme was a fantastic encore and I'd have been satisfied even if they didn't have time for the second encore (which I also enjoyed immensely, despite the aforementioned--and minor, in my opinion--flaws). My only lament is that Terra's Theme isn't on the CD. But considering that they only debuted that song recently, it's not surprising. Maybe on the next CD!
Curucar: I wasn't close enough to hear the conductor's verbal cues so it didn't bother me, but I'm sure that if I had heard them I'd have been similarly annoyed. It would definitely take away from the experience.
I was happy that, even though the etiquette displayed overall wasn't up to par for a normal CSO concert, it wasn't as appallingly bad as I expected it might be. *Most* people dressed up well enough, and though I didn't see any of them personally, I heard there were only a handful of cosplayers. Fortunately the group I went with all dressed for the occasion, so I didn't have to hide any shame.

On the whole, I had a fantastic night and it reminded me just how much I love going to the CSO in person (it's been WAY too long). Future meetup potential, perhaps?

Oh, and the best part was sitting next to BakuDan when the conductor announced certain songs. When he mentioned they were going to do the entire opera, BakuDan nearly fell out of his seat. And when he announce Terra's Theme, I thought BakuDan was going to have a heart attack from the excitement. Totally awesome.
