[Video Rooms] NDK 2008 Feedback

Thank you to everyone who stopped in the video rooms. I hope you enjoyed what we had to offer.

Now that the con is over, I'd once again like to hear what you have to say about how we did in the video rooms. We welcome anything you have to say, but in particular, we're interested in knowing these things:

What did you like about the video rooms?
What didn't you like about the video rooms?
What would you like to see change for next year?

I'll personally read anything you post here so whatever you say will be considered. Please be honest--you won't hurt anyone's feelings. We can accept constructive criticism because it means we can make things better for next year.

One suggestion, the video screens had another foot or so that they could be raised and probably should be raised. I heard some grumbling about not being able to read subs through other viewers heads that could be eliminated by raising the screens up.

Greg Hines:
Yeah, we'll definitely be resolving the screen issue next year. Unfortunately we discovered the problem with the screens at the last minute, so we couldn't do much about them this year.

Good to see the problem of video screens being blocked has been mentioned already. I know I had a problem with that and I am also a tall guy so I know some people had a problem with my head being in the way too. 
Although another problem that just came to mind is the trash being left behind in the video rooms, maybe staff can remind everyone to pick up their bottles and whatnot after an episode or something? I dont think this will completely eliminate that problem but it should help a bit, there are always going to be those people who are just plain rude and will just leave it anyways.
That being said I enjoyed the mix of dub, sub, and raw anime.
I had no idea what was being said in Sayonara Zatsubo Sensei but it was hilarious!!! ^_^

People aren't supposed to bring food or drinks into the video rooms for the reasons you mentioned, among others. We'll try to do a better job of publicizing the rule and of enforcing it in the future. Unfortunately, while I suspect that quite a few people would pick up their trash if we asked them to, a number of them would treat the video rooms like a movie theater and leave their trash behind regardless.

We'll certainly explore some other options to help curb this behavior, or to at least mitigate it by being more effective at keeping the rooms clean.
