anyway, yes, bandai was very unhappy with the way ADV handled the property, and pioneer's, nee geneon, license lapsed. bandai has been so unhappy with the way the US companies have dubbed and distributed the series, that it won't likely get licensed any time in the near future.

...

there's prolly less than 0 chance that stars will ever be brought to the states. it's simply a too difficult property to dub, without running into severe criticism/backlash from conservatives, religious right, etc. having lesbians was bad enough, but how do you explain sex-changing transvestites in BDSM outfits to your 5 year old?
Those two points are my biggest gripes with the dub. The Japanese version was aimed at teens and young adults, but it was turned into a Saturday morning cartoon when they brought it stateside, and IMHO they utterly ruined it. One of the things I'd heard was that Bandai (thanks for the clarification) was not pleased by how the dub had been aimed at kids, and because the more adult elements of Stars couldn't be entirely glossed over through rewrites, it was going to be next to impossible to bring it to the US.

But Toei is releasing the series on Direct2Drive

By the way what is BDSM i've heard of BSSM.  Sailor Moon is not lost, and Sailor Moon was popular in the US, it didn't stop FUNimation wants the rights.

And yes while the seires maybe old its a series that would still bring in a good amount state side.

Oi, if they had Lindsey Lohan in anything Sailor Moon, I would cry.  Sorry guys, not a fan.  It would be cool to have the movie though!

PGSM is ok, it can be corny at times but I honestly think Sailor Moon almost only works with Japanese actors.

I am open-minded, but skeptical...
