Bah. I like Shinji. Of course, I also A) am a huge Eva nerd, B) also like Asuka and C) am probably the only person on Earth who likes them both. Anyway, back to the topic at hand...

1) Sumomo (Chobits). Good lord, that is one annoying little robot...
2) Yuzuriha (X/1999). I like the character all right, I just can't stand her voice.
3) Rikku (FFX and X2). She's a total ditz, and the whole "Yunie" thing drives me nuts.
4) Pretty much everyone in the Sailor Moon dub.

Lol I gotta agree with most people on this, I wouldn't be able to stand Misa Misa in real life, her character from Death Note makes me twitch, her stupidity is suffocating, and I'd get way too jealous of her stealing my spot light, lol. She probably wouldn't live a day with me, lol. I also have issues with Aya Matsume, even if I plan to cosplay the lil annoyance, compared to her wise elder sister Maya, I find Aya to be rather stupid and clingy, similar to Misa Misa, I guess its a pet peeve of mine. Which brings me to my biggest pet peeve of them all, the typical heroin characters, the saints who constantly speech about friendship and love, and sadly lots of girls come to mind, but the biggest one of them all, I believe, may be Tea from Yugioh. The show would have been way more entertaining if she wasn't in it! >.<; Thankfully LittleKuriboh, maker of Yugioh the abridged series, successfully remade her into an amusing character, hee hee, and swiftly avenged our injured fandom, lol. Woot! >w<

The only one thats ever REALLY got on my nerves was Miaka from Fushigi Yuugi.  I wasn't worried about the cry baby part, that just comes with the anime territory. The whole, "I'm causing everyone too much trouble! I know, I'll run away from them into a strange land I know nothing about, fully aware that people are trying to kill me, separating myself from the people who I KNOW will come looking for me, only to land in more trouble, hand the enemy a golden opportunity at dividing us thereby making it harder on everyone I was trying to protect in the first place" five or six too many times. It just got to be a little much. I did enjoy the show overall, tho.

I am kinda surprised at the hate for Shinji. He's a 14 year old introvert who had a terrible, domineering dad and is suddenly thrust into the role of world savior. How would you react? He does get better, all of evangelion is the story of his own personal growth.

Lol, that gets on my nerves too. To the point where I'm yelling at my tv/computer screen in frustration at the over done plot line of pure ignorance of the characters motive. But then again, the fact is, we still watched it even though we knew exactly what was going to happen, predicting the heroins cause and effect. So I'm sure the author couldn't care less if we liked that part or not, in the end, he/she still got our money from it, lol.


Ironically enough this reminds me of another thing I'd like to rant about, not the anime characters per say, but the guys who make up these characters. In some animes, its like seeing the same anime character with just a different hair color. Personality wise, Bleach is a good example of most characters that have no original characters in the show. The lead is your stereotypical rebel who has a soft side. The damsel in distress is yet another heroin who preaches love and friendship. The strong silent type is ofcorse the brains of the group, then the regular buffoons randomly appear for comedy relief every now and then, I mean I swear would it kill some of these authors to actually make some better original characters with more character in depth then, parents died tragically, some babe falls for him, he gains hidden powers, becomes the savior of the world. I've heard this story plot line a million times, and it gets old. =.=; I like the show an all, but they made way too many stereotypical characters for my tastes. At least in Naruto the author made an effort to give the characters unique personalities and pasts, as annoying as the flash backs are, their useful to provide the viewers with necessary information so the viewer can understand and sympathize with the characters choices and reasoning. I have to remember that the prime audience for anime that are shown on Cartoon Network, are mere children. v.v; Getting upset over something that has no point, is useless. v.v; ....Reminds me of bad hentai. It's there for one purpose, and one purpose only, it doesn't matter if the plot line sucks. XD

I can understand what you mean there, but it's not Bleach's fault. These characters are archetypes that pervade fiction in all cultures throughout time. See "The Hero with a Thousand Faces" by Joseph Campbell. He argues that, in reality, any hero story is a variant of the same story. They all follow the same paths, have the same challenges, meet the same people, etc. Excellent book.

I think the biggest problem with Bleach is that they've simply overextended themselves. I like the depth of Soul Society, but not everyone needs their own story. How can a show move along at a reasonable pace while at the same time covering back stories for nearly 30 characters? It can't! Bleach gets so bogged down sometimes that I have to stop watching it for months until I can tolerate it again. Last night I watched 7 or 8 episodes because I realized I was four months back.

I donno why no one likes Matsuda - he's awesome. I absolutely love Mello though - I daresay if I see anyone cosplay him at NDK they will be glomped. ^.^ I personally can not stand Sakura from Naruto or Misa from Death Note. they both need to be shot... with a bean bag gun... cuse it hurts without killing!

Sasuke should die a horrible, humiliating death of blood less from his left pinky toe while being hung upside down from the cieling and beaten with a fluffy bunny purse by my Grandma and the Power Puff girls.
Aion (Chrono Crusade) should just spontaneously combust and then be swallowed by a giant worm and digested for the next thousand years. Along with Nakago (Fushigi Yuugi).
And pretty much everyone else that I hate and think should die is already dead.
Everyone else should just be locked in my basement for the simple honor of being tortured for a Kajillion years due to my extreme boredom and lack of a life.
