Yes, at-the-door prices are $50 for the weekend or $30 per day.

Hello hello everybody! My name's Lorien (call me Blodia :D ) and I'm part of the registration staff. Hope the lines weren't too long this year. I know early Saturday we had a pretty long line (and trust me, when we saw the end of the line and we were finally able to breathe we cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeered) and I'm not sure what the wait was but hopefully everyone made it through in a decent amount of time.

We didn't do anything different from last year. As usual, new registration is set to open at 2 but we've always opened 10AM or earlier, and I know that is one of the things that has helped us get through lines quicker as opposed to when we were at the Holiday Inn. However, I'd love to hear feedback (and I'll pass it on to the registration heads) - I'd be more than happy to know what we can do to make the first thing you usually do at NDK better. Feel free to PM me any time or just leave a post here.

hooray run on sentences

Anyhoo, I hope everyone had a great time!!

One thing I would suggest is leaving Registration open for longer Friday night. Our group had school on Friday, and between that and the traffic coming up from the Springs, we got there about fifteen minutes too late, and though there were still a ton of people sitting at the Reg tables, we weren't allowed to check in. Talking to people in the long line of doom Sat morning, we found about a dozen other people who said the same thing. We all made it somewhere between ten minutes and an hour late and, despite actually coming at a decent time on Friday (8:30 isn't that late), still had to stand in the huge line on Sat. So maybe just slightly later cut off time on Friday night, and then you wouldn't have such long lines on Saturday morning? Just a thought.

We were actually supposed to close an hour earlier than we actually did. I do remember your group coming through, though, and someone asking us what time we closed for another group (not sure if it was you or not) earlier in the day. Deciding how late we stay open is kind of a crapshoot, as there's always going to be someone that's not gonna quite be able to make it, and if we keep staying open for "just one more person", we'd be there all night. ;) I do apologize for having to wait on Saturday though, and I'll definitely pass on the suggestion.

In any case, thank you for the feedback!

hmmm, perhaps a way to allow people that didn't quite make it to come up to us directly... ahh, so many factors! >_<

Maybe if you just had one person there, switching off, until ten or eleven? Then there wouldn't have to be a ton of you sitting around, but some of the people who weren't quite on time could still register. Or if there was an "on duty person" somewhere with a few badges who could be found...

I dunno.

But thank you guys so much for moving the line so quickly on Saturday, and for everything else you do! NDK was awesome!
