Which gender watches/reads "Naruto" more? Yep, a poll.

It seems in this country that Naruto is marketed towards males. Even in the toy stores the action figures are in the "boys'" aisle. However, the story is very popular amongst girls in America. Both genders in this country seem to equally participate in Naruto cosplaying, as well as in purchasing the merchandise. But, as I said, the merchandise companies push the concept to males.

And this piqued my curiosity as to the percentage of male viewers verses female viewers. Thus, I created this poll. I know, I know, the NDK message boards don't represent the entire fan population, but at least it'll give a small idea of which gender watches/reads it more, or if there's a division in numbers at all.

In addition, one of the main aspects the merchandisers push is the action/fighting. If you want you can list what draws you into the anime/manga. Is it the action, the storyline, the characters, or something else?

For me, it's the action and the art style. It's just so beautiful, and impressive. ]:D Especially in the manga.

I think the majority of epople here who like Naruto are girls, so that might give us an edge.

Well, when I was in charge of the events here in Rapid City, it was actually more boys that were in Naruto. NOw before I get to ahead of myself, South Dakota Fandom is a little more on a different trend mill than everybody else. The reason is, here SD nobody really knew what anime was until about 5 years ago and even than it took awhile to acru more fans until I started putting on events and promoting the Manga in Waldenbooks. So with that being said, the girls are still heavily in Fruits Basket and other things like Yoai while the boys are still heavily into Naruto and Hellsing.

Edit: Unlike Denver(CO) or MInnipolis(MN), there is yet to be an anime store of anykind in SD, so this will show you where we are in the fan part.

I don't read Naruto I don't watch Naruto I'm not a Narutard. But its still an ok anime.  Alright I'll admit I have seen like 4 episodes, its ok I guess.

Judging from vote so far, it looks like there's more girls.
For me, I've noticed my guy friends being more interested in Bleach, Death Note, etc. than Naruto.

I love Naruto for it's character designs, the artwork, and the moral( I guess it would be called?). Right now, the plot is like, at a standstill XD

I think its comes with age group like below 18 a lot of girls dying to see Sasuke and Kakashi everyday . And when you get mature you become less like the NARUTO. The Naruto shippuden most likely Male watching this series.............

I'm a guy, and watch Naruto.  I thinks it's a good anime, lots a fun, and a great story.  But yeah, seems like more girls at least from the NDK forums, watch it.  To be honest it seems like a lot of girls who watch it simply watch to go gaga or Sasuke and Naruto.  But then, that's not saying ALL fan girls of the show are that way.
For me, I like the story of Naruto and how expansive it is.  While yeah, there's a main plot, at the same time there're so many branches that make people want to learn more about this village, these characters, etc.  I really like that about Naruto, it's kinda rare for an anime to do that.  Not saying they're bad, just that most animes are not nearly as long so it makes sense.  And some just don't have the type of story that is open for an expansive world.  Again, not a bad thing.
But Naruto on the other hand really can make you enjoy the show outside the main plot.  Like the seasons of "filler episodes".  Now a lot of people gripe about them, my friend included, but I enjoy them for the chance to see more action from the characters other than Naruto and Sakura and Sasuke ya know.  I guess that's what really gets me into the show, though the action if fun to.

Well one of the main reasons I read and watch it is because I used to watch it all the tie with my older brother, now my little brother reads Shonen Jump (As well as I do) and he also buys the volumes. Which I and my older brother read after him.
Personally I am no real fan of the boys, I read it because I'm interested in the plot, plus the art is really lovely between books. Sometimes when I use them for drawing I'm caught up in the story and end up just reading. ^^
I'm now waiting for Shippuden to air, because i've some of the volumes of it. It's a lot more interesting then when the kids were younger. Although I see more cosplayed as the younger versions. Which is cool by me.
So I admit I'm a big Naru-Tard, collecting the tools, and head bands and such, plus creating my own characters for it. I might grow out of the manga, I might not. For now I like it, as well as many people I know.

I watch it because it's fascinating. With anime in general I tend to watch read more action pack anime such as Naruto, Fullmetal Alchemist (both series)  and Bleach.  yami no Matsuei is an excpeption since it is still very action packed.

i watch the naruto anime.  i love the conflict that Sasuke deals with, and the bond that he and Naruto and sakura share.  And then kakashi is just all around awsome.
