Films shown will be My Neighbor Totoro, Whisper of the Heart, The Cat Returns, Castle in the Sky, Kiki's Delivery Service, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Pom Poko, Princess Mononoke, Ocean Waves, Spirited Away, Porco Rosso, My Neighbors the Yamadas, Howl's Moving Castle, Ponyo, and Only Yesterday. The films will be mostly subtitled English, but some will also have dubbed showings.
Never heard of Studio Ghibli? The Tokyo-based Academy Award-winning studio is responsible for the most successful Japanese movie of all time (Spirited Away, the only non-English animated film to win an Oscar), and is distributed internationally by the Walt Disney Company. The Denver Film Center/Colfax is the only place in the region to see all 15 films on brand new 35mm prints.
