Charity Auction
As a registered nonprofit organization, NDK is committed to best serving our community at large. Each year, we consider it a privilege to be able to help a charity with special meaning to a member of our staff. We do so by holding an auction at the convention and donating 100% of the proceeds to that select charity.
A combined $30,000 has been donated to previous worthy recipients: the Japan America Society of Colorado, American Red Cross, Susan G. Komen Foundation, American Diabetes Association and Child's Play.
This year, we've chosen to help the United Way Gulf Recovery Fund. Multiple members of our staff have family in the numerous affected areas along the Gulf Coast.
The oil spill devastating the U.S. coastline has created major disruption in the lives of people in the Gulf Coast areas, even as they still struggle to recover from the 2005 hurricanes. The United Way Gulf Recovery Fund will provide emergency assistance, such as help with food, rent and utilities, and support long-term recovery efforts to rebuild lives devastated by the disaster by addressing educational, financial and health-related challenges.
