Auction Rules
Bidding Terms
All bids are final. Bids must be at least one whole dollar more than the previous bid. Bidders who withdraw bids or choose not to pay for art they have bid on will be placed on a negative bidder list and will be permanently banned from bidding on any art in the art show. Use your first and last name when you bid, and please print legibly. We want to make sure the piece goes to the right person and that's hard to do when we can’t read your name. Bids made where the bidder does not print their first and last name will be disallowed and crossed out by the art show staff.
Bidding Conditions
Pieces which have "NFS" on their bid sheets are Not For Sale. If there is no Quick Sale price on the bid sheet, it cannot be bought via Quick Sale. Pieces in the Art Show that are for sale may have two prices, Minimum Bid and Quick Sale. Pieces with both a Quick Sale price and a Minimum Bid price may be bought outright for the Quick Sale price only if no one has previously bid on the piece (but we ask you to leave it on display until the auction, so others can see it and envy you). Any piece sold via Quick Sale bid is considered sold and can no longer be bid on. To buy via Quick Sale, bring the bid sheet to the Art Show desk and pay for the piece.
If a piece of art has both a Quick Sale price and a Minimum Bid price and a bid is placed on the art that is less than the quick sale price then it can no longer be bought via Quick Sale. Bidding may continue and in whole dollar amounts (you can even bid higher than the quick sale price if you wish) until three written bids are made then the art will go to the voice auction. If there are no voice bids at the voice auction then the piece goes to the highest written bid. Pieces with 2 bids or less will go to the highest written bid at the time bidding closes on Sunday.
Picking up Purchased Art
Pieces you buy must be picked up by 3:30 PM on Sunday. Any art not picked up by that time will be returned to the artist.
