We’re saddened to announce that Dan Peak, one of Nan Desu Kan’s founding staff members, is stepping down from the Board of Directors of NDK’s parent organization. He’ll be pursuing his dream of teaching martial arts and we wish him the very best in all his future endeavors.
Dan, known to most people at NDK as “BakuDan,” was a pioneer of NDK’s Video Game Room, which he headed from its inception until he joined the Rocky Mountain Anime Association Board of Directors in 2007. There he earned a near-legendary reputation among staff and attendees alike.
As the Staff Director for the convention, he was a relentless champion for all of NDK’s many staff members. With his policy of open communication and his uncanny ability to get to the heart of a problem, he was ideally suited for the position. Depending on what was needed of him, he played the role of problem-solver, confidant, or shoulder to cry on.
Dan will be missed greatly, and we want to extend our heartfelt thanks for his 15 years of dedicated service to NDK. He has left this place far better than he found it, and for that we’re truly grateful. His legacy of integrity, honesty, and fairness will never be forgotten, and we’re all better people for having had the privilege of working with him.
